Anyone else about sick to fucking death of the term "social distancing"?

I hear you but people aren't locked in their homes, that can still shop, exercise, and viist family ...we just have to do without some of the things that are very likely to contribute to the sread of this virus, and that's not forever, so no one is losing their Freedom, being sold as a slave in a third world country is losing your freedom, this i just an inconvenience...and since it seem to be a guessing game about its long term effects i would rather try to nip it in the bud now, than deal with a worse situation later.
With every little bit they’re adding to this whole lockdown, we have lost freedom. We were told by governors that we can only go to certain places and not others. They supposedly lifted it in some states while others extended their orders. That’s a loss of freedom. Then they tell you that you have to practice social distancing. That’s a loss of freedom. Then they say you have to wear a mask and some stores won’t take you as a customer unless you’re a good little sheep and wear a mask. That’s a loss of freedom. Don’t be deceived - they took a huge chunk of our freedom and they give us back little chunks with stipulations attached. That is not freedom and it violates our constitutional rights as citizens of the USA.

I live in NY and our cases are trending down, due to measures put in place...

Georgia just had an uptick in cases after last weekend when they reopened malls and nail salons and barbershops...

So i guess the truth is somewhere in the middle...but the only risk to lives and property i would see, is if folks that protest the social distancing orders were to do so violently.
Let’s see, GA reopened last week and there’s already been an uptick. Do you really believe people are automatically running to get tested after they’ve spent time out living normal - ESPECIALLY if people are asymptomatic for up to 14 days? Come on... can you not see some sort of bullshit in the narrative we’re being fed?

neither you or I can say what folks are doing unless we are on the ground , so all we have to go on are stats.... you are free to believe what you want...

There is zero evidence the lockdowns had any impact on either the infection rate or the number of deaths. There is strong evidence in fact that they did nothing on that front. Following dubious infection stats day to day has also proven to be a fool's game. I fell for it myself.

There is strong evidence from past recessions and past depressions that loss of employment has long lasting negative impacts on lives including suicides, drug abuse, domestic violence and child molestation. This one won't be any different, except it will be bigger.

Businesses owners put their whole lives into have been destroyed. Most are not coming back. I may not know anyone who died of CV19, but I know 7 different people, good friends all, who have shuttered their businesses and several have no idea how they will ever be able to reopen. Between the seven I would guess there were 30 employees who are now making more sitting at home than they could going back to work. Another 10 who made more, but who are now servicing debt by draining their life savings.

I'm am blown away that you don't see any of this as a risk to lives and property. Your posts are usually better thought out.

Isn't that up to individual Business owners though Who to allow in or not with a mask? there are a plethora of folks NOT practicing social distancing...i see it everyday without penalty...that loss of freedom is completely overblown...this isn't MARSHALL LAW, far from it

When you have governors trying to make people wear masks in public, that goes well beyond local businesses saying whom they will serve or not serve.

based on the number of folks violating lock down orders on the regular and from the beginning...are you surprised? the numbers are going to fluctuate, that's why i feel the truth is somewhere in the middle . take the anti lockdown leader in NC...now shes stuck in quarantine because she tested positive...I'm a business owner i know how hard his is...hell i have insurance payments to make and had to furlough all my employees...but i'll take that hit if it means they are less exposed to customers than risk their health for some dollars...guess i jut think different

And i still don't see folks doing it...so how is that a loss of freedom?

I'm embarrassed for some of you with the responses I'm reading... I had a cousin that thought it was BS and he's just recovering from it and was almost put on a ventilator...i lost one of my oldest friends, and a mentor who also didn't take this seriously...I have 2 former co workers recovering, because that job makes distancing almost impossible, another lifelong friend who's wife is a nurse and jut tested positive, and lastly, because i didn't want my mom risking exposure i took my uncle to his dialysis treatment this past week on tuesday..he was rushed to the hospital in the middle of treatment and has since tested positive for COVID-19, this past Friday i developed a dry cough and luckily was able to get a same day Appointment, yesterday that test came back positive...So, this isn't some hoax or Game or any other of that bullshit...this is real and i guess since some of you don't know anyone personally suffering from it you don't give a shit... and that is SAD...I'm a business owner, and it really hurts me because my business is in tourism, so i am in a crunch even with a PPP loan...but i view this as a minor inconvenience, if this overly cautious approach stops an possibly even worse situation down the road, which could take more lives . Folks alot smarter in virology than us are still arguing if this was man made or occurred naturally...if we can't even agree on that....how can we know how bad this can be?

Sorry it’s hit close to home for you. But all those people got covid despite lockdown measures. So would it have really been any worse without such strict measures.

My biggest issue is how overhyped the news coverage has been. The numbers, although bad, do not justify the panic. So just like when Peter cried wolf, are people going to take the next virus seriously. This overreaction may lead to future implications when a virus truly is very deadly.

I’m also not too happy by how tremendously divisive and political this has become. That’s lead me to believe that people are seizing this as an opportunity to advance their own agendas. That has nothing to do with the virus and the people that are taking advantage of it are despicable.

If life goes back to normal then this will be remembered as a bad disease. If life is forever changed by this it’ll be noted as the beginning of the end for the American way. We need to return to normal.

And violating those measures contributes to that...so we have numbers all over the place because ALOT of people are not taking this seriously... and yes there has been politics dragged into this ...there should be no conditions on financial Aid to Americans by Democrats or Republicans....we give Israel 3 Billion a year no questions asked...this should be no different

And now ME’s governor has just signed a bill ending religious and personal exemptions for vaccinations. Agenda much?
that's not because of COVID, that's' because Measles and Whooping cough are on the Rise in Maine, because it had the highest number of Vaccination Opt outs in the country.

When you use the number of cases as your argument, please include the number of tests performed.

Say I test 10,000 people today and 500 are positive (5%). Then the next day I test 20,000 and 750 are positive (3.75%). Yes, the number of positive cases have increased, but the percentage of positive tests has decreased.

Just saying, numbers are way too easy to manipulate for arguments/fear.

But nobody dies from measles or whooping cough.

why even have a vaccine for it. Somebody who gets vaccinated for measles can actually spread it 2 weeks from ehen they got it.

what if the covid vaccine does the same thing, or you actually get covid from the vaccine?

Yeah, everyone seems to forget there is a shedding period after a vaccine which makes them contagious.
