Anyone else about sick to fucking death of the term "social distancing"?

Oh geez, here comes the next incarnation of Zepp. You have more handles than CdnGuy Lol.

As much as I hate to agree with you because I find you rather obnoxious, you’re right. Though according to our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution, we SHOULD have freedom.

The problem was these were written by slavemasters who beat the shit out of their slaves. George Washington for all practical purposes was a monster, the fucker yanked teeth out of his slaves to make himself a set of dentures.

How can slavers write a document having anything to do with freedom?

This is why your rights can never be written down, writing down your rights only limits your freedom(just like religion). When I think of my freedom, I don't want to check a document written long ago by a bunch of self righteous smelly twats, I know damn well what my freedoms are......to do whatever I want as long as I don't put my hands on another person or their property.

I heard ppl are getting put on ventilators and the ventilators are killing them. I mean you fuck with someone's breathing when they don't need it and I guess it's possible

Having worked in hospitals for 25 years I've seen patients put on ventilators in ER only to realize the ventilator wasn't working and the rookie doctor didn't catch it in time, putting too much faith in a machine instead of commonsense telling them to continuing to bag manually to keep the sats up.

Granted most doctors are smarter than this, but those lacking experience can really screw up. And these machines do go down, it's pretty scary when you think about having your wrists restrained to bed rails with a tube shoved down your windpipe while you suffocate. Most of the time it's brain damage and eventually death.

It's one of the reasons I'm strongly against nurse practitioners, I've seen more of these types of screw ups out of these people than anyone else.

And after intubation, most patients aren't even in contact with providers right now. They've got the monitors pulled into hallways in a lot of places specifically to minimize contact.

Fuck. That.

The psychological damage that often comes from being on a ventilator is already a huge strike against. An almost total lack of human contact on top?

Let me die rather than try to unravel the trauma that's going to cause.

I have no doubt history gets rewritten, but I’ve never heard this before. Everything I’ve seen says he had wooden dentures.

What you said above isn't true. At least according to snopes.com, he purchased teeth from his slaves.

FACT CHECK: Did George Washington Have Wooden Teeth?

Below is an excerpt I copied from the snopes.com link above:

"A longstanding rumor that Washington purchased teeth from his slaves may be true, as well, Michael Beschloss writes:

According to his account books, in 1784, emulating some of his affluent friends, he bought nine teeth from unidentified “Negroes” — perhaps enslaved African Americans at his beloved Mount Vernon; the price was 122 shillings."

I wouldn’t trust Snopes at all and if they were his slaves, why would he purchase anything from them? He already viewed them as less than human if he could own them as slaves, so why would he even pay them when he already owned their teeth as well as their lives?

Ok, use some common sense here and let’s look at this. For arguments sake let’s say you’re right and Washington was benevolent and PAID 9 slaves for teeth. Of what value would that be for the slaves? What did he pay them with? They had no money. And any material possession was likely taken away from them. Would it have been “if you donate a tooth you won’t get beaten this week and this week alone.”

So just based on THINKING alone, there’s no way he “purchased” the teeth. History doesn’t portray all of the horrible details surrounding slavery. Slaves were likely viewed no differently than farm animals. Not America’s proudest moment in time.

Farm animals weren’t beaten and raped like slaves were.

Not to add much to the George Washington teeth but anybody who grew up in NJ probably went on a field trip to Washingtons headquarters in Valley Forge Nj. The teeth in display there, along with a few of his other personal effects, were definitely wood. I think wood and ivory if i am remembering correctly- it’s been a long time sence I was there. I remember them being hideous, almost scary looking. I don’t think you would even be able to talk with those things in your mouth. He must have put them in to make appearances or for paintings or some shit. Nothing you could wear everyday.

George Washington wasn't just a slaver, he was also a con-artist greedy selfish fuck. Buying land out from under veterans that fought for him at rock bottom prices. Also not shy about killing Natives.

It's a great lesson not to have hero's or people you look up to. You pull back the curtain and you see the ugly truth that most of these men weren't anything special, many of them just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

The only founder I truly respect is Thomas Paine, way ahead of his time, pointed out the bullshit America was built on, the evil that was carried on out in the open. There should be monuments everywhere built to honor this man, he represents what America should have become, a people that question everything and everyone.
