Very happy with the draft choices by Baltimore so far. Rutschman is a 5 tool player and catches a great game.
Might be tough signing the ss out of HS. Heard he really wants to play at Auburn with his brother.
Couple other solid selections fron Stanford and New Mexico State.
Look out Yanks and Red Sux. We'll be competitive in 2 more seasons.

2 seasons is a long way off. Meanwhile the Stanks and Red Sux will be trouncing the birds in the meantime.

Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger suffers ruptured testicle

Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger suffered a ruptured testicle after fouling a ball off himself on Thursday and was placed on the injured list.

In the third inning of an 14-inning loss to the Houston Astros in Seattle, Haniger foul-tipped a pitch from Justin Verlander and the ball deflected straight into his groin.

Haniger, playing center field Thursday, stayed in the game and had another at-bat before being lifted for a pinch-hitter in the seventh.

That's wild. After seeing some of the awful calls from the home plate umpire last year, i began thinking of something along similar lines.

Sensors in the ball and home plate that could detect a ball from a strike. However, that could change the weight and feel of the ball, but even more so, it fundamentally changes the way the game has been played for over 100 years.

It would take some getting used to to have pitch calls automated and no one to yell at while watching the game. :D

Thanks for the link.

Yanks, White Sox to play at ‘Field of Dreams’

They’re building it.

“Field of Dreams” will become a big-league reality on Aug. 13, 2020, when the beloved 1989 baseball movie will spring to life in the Iowa cornfields. As announced Thursday, the White Sox and Yankees will stage the first Major League game in the Hawkeye State, in a temporary 8,000-seat ballpark constructed in the corn on the Dyersville farm site where the classic film was shot.

Ten Cent Beer Night was a promotion held by Major League Baseball's Cleveland Indians during a game against the Texas Rangers at Cleveland Stadium on Tuesday, June 4, 1974.

In Texas, the trouble had started in the bottom of the fourth inning with a walk to the Rangers' Tom Grieve, followed by a Lenny Randle single. The next batter hit a double play ball to Indians third baseman John Lowenstein; he stepped on the third base bag to retire Grieve and threw the ball to second base, but Randle disrupted the play with a hard slide into second baseman Jack Brohamer.

The Indians retaliated in the bottom of the eighth when pitcher Milt Wilcox threw behind Randle's legs. Randle eventually laid down a bunt. When Wilcox attempted to field it and tag Randle out (which he did successfully), Randle hit him with his forearm. Indians first baseman John Ellis responded by punching Randle, and both benches emptied for a brawl.

After the brawl was broken up, as Indians players and coaches were returning to the dugout, they were struck by food and beer hurled by Rangers fans; catcher Dave Duncan had to be restrained from going into the stands to brawl with fans.

Any of you see the autopsy results from the Angels pitcher who passed away earlier this season?
