Hi,

My derm wants some blood work done before starting accutane. She has also sent me to an endocrinologist. (I am a female and I told her I hadn't had a period in a while which made her send me to one)

They both want me to get the following tested:

•E/LFT- ELECTROLYTES/LIVER FUNCTION TESTS

•FBC/DIFF/ESR

•hCG-quantative

•Lipids with hdl

•FAI

•TESTOSTERONE

•TOTAL

•DHEAS

•ANDROSTENEDIONE

•SHGB

•17 HYDROXY PROGESTERONE

•LH

•FSH

•ESTRADIOL

•PROGESTERONE

•PROLACTIN

•CORTISOL

•KARYOTYPE

Will they be able to tell if I am using? I was planning to start another cycle around about now.

TIA

I’d suggest you inform your docs your “supplementing AAS” as many of these tests are likely being conducted to determine the cause of your AMENORRHEA!

The latter is VERY important bc Accutane is associated with a higher incidence of BIRTH DEFECTS when used during pregnancy!

I've already denied any ped use because I was worried that the derm wouldn't give me accutane if she knew.
I should have never have mentioned the periods

And if your derm asked such a question she likely suspected you were cycling based upon your body habitus alone.

And chances are your denial compelled her to search for everything under the sun including chromosomal abnormalities, as the source of your
amenorrhea.

Your experience is one reason why I’ve tried to remind folk letting their doc know they are using AAS IS the best course of action, ESPECIALLY if asked.

I can think of one reason id be concerned if my girl had no period. If that's the case the last things you want to do are accutane or anabolics. If you are going to do nandrolone do npp. Do you know the halflife of deca?

Yeah generally I stick with npp but It wasn't available to me at the time. I've done my fair share of cycles so I don't think deca will be much of a prob.

If you are implying that I may be pregnant I can asure you I'm not lol It's commen for women to lose their period on cycle. When I come off cycle my period comes back almost immediately.

As I mentioned earlier bc of the HIGH incidence of birth defects, you might want to investigate the magnitude of due diligence required by the FDA on behalf of a physician and ANY female of child bearing age before Accutane is prescribed.

Good luck.

No no. We're all smarter than all the docs. We'll just lie our way through treatment to get the drugs we want. They aren't doctors, they're a drug dispensary.

Seriously, come clean with your doc.

Chances are if a physician asks if you
are running anabolics they know more than you realize so just KIS, no need to go into detail about what and how much “cycling” is involved.

Like yea I’m running some AAS I got on line should be more than sufficient.

Thereafter EXPECT any informed doc to ask questions about whether “you” are familiar with the side effects of AAS, esp in females as some, such as vocal changes, maybe permanent.
