What are the measurements of that vial? I have a few sites that might have them.

I honestly have no idea... I've never seen them before which is why I was kind of intrigued by them. Aside from looking kind of cool, they would work nicely with the method I use to warm up my vials before pinning.

If you're in the mood for a scavenger hunt, I'm also looking for the same kind of vial flip tops that POTG uses on his vials, they're all plastic on the cap and leave a smooth edge after you pop top off.

The serum vials are made by kimble , they are usually made in 30ml vials. .. med lab supply carries the 30ml kimble long tubular vials , but ive seen cheaper brands on amazon in 20ml ... the ones on amazon look cheap as shit though , you can tell the glass is alot thinner than the kimble vials.

I dont know where potg gets his vial seals from but ive been looking for those damn things forever and have yet to come across them so good luck with that one lol !

Edit : the long 20ml vials on amazon are made by health care logistics if you wanna look in to those ones ..

Awesome! Thanks.

I'm pretty sure I've seen someone mention what kind of tops they are but I can't remember. I'll have to look around... Maybe I'll ask primo.

Yeah those look like they might be ones , but its hard to tell without seeing the inside of the seal .... i know one thing though 100$ for a 1000 count of seals those better be some damn good vial seals lol !!

My thoughts too. I have been hesitant to order them because of that and it’s such a huge supply for me right now. In a few months I’m pulling the trigger, so if no one else has feedback by then I will post it up.

Damn Icky, it's probably for the best we don't live close to each other... We would have entirely too much fun together if we did.

Distilling is something I've wanted to get into for years, actually planned on getting myself setup for it this summer but got too busy for it. Brewing beer and wine has been a fun hobby, distilling was the next natural step.
lol, I'm sure we would! It's a very fun thing to do, very simple but incredibly fun. The spicy flavor of warm shine right out of the worm is unreal. So cool...

I would suggest getting a smaller, cheaper, stainless steel still for a first still. They are easy to work with because of the smaller size, they are cheap and work. You'll get a couple of runs through a stainless still and know if it's something you'll be doing for a while or not. Dropping 125$ on a smaller still and not liking it as a hobby is better than 500/600$ on a copper pot and not liking it. Start with a basic sugar mash as well. You'll develop better ways of doing things as you learn and I'm almost going to guarantee that you'll waste some mash on your first few runs. Nothing sucks worse than wasting a good rye mash!

My guess is you'll like it. :)

P.s. pro tip....don't distill with the sediment from the mash in the pot. It isn't a smart move. Puts a slight burnt taste in the liqour and it takes like 4 more runs to clean the taste out. Not cool

P.p.s. get a thumper keg! :D

First time ever making my own stuff just some test e 300 %12 B.B. was fun learned from it and never ever doing it with syringe filters again got 2 bottle top filters on the way now to finish making the rest of my stuff and my mast

Caulk gun makes it much easier, caulk gun is 1dollar at Wal-Mart. 60ml syringe fits I believe.

Ye don’t think am ever going to syringe filters am looking for a glass filtration system so I can just clean it and reuse it and sterilise it myself

Just depends on how much oil your going to filter on a particular brew , if your brewing more than 200ml , bottle tops are the way to go ! Anything under 200ml i just syringe filter because i can fly through 200ml with a syringe in 30-40 minutes if you use the right technique ;)....

heat your oil for one , 200° is hot enough to make your oil flow like water but cool enough that it won't damage your filter (assuming your using a whatman ) or the plunger in your syringe ...

Then use the edge of your table for leverage (pic below) to push your hot oil ... i wouldn't put crazy pressure on it but with the warm oil you can go pretty damn hard on a whatman without blowing it out ! Mct works great with this method miglyol works better ... like i said you once you get good you can push 200ml in 40 minutes tops with minimal effort ..

I might try it again with a different type of filter and with a caulking gun but that has really put me of and I have already ordered two bottle top filters and a pump but just found out there the wrong ones and won’t work do you know of any good glass wear ones that you can just hand pump the pressure in and then leave it and come back and it’s filtered and just wash it and bake it in the oven for sterility and just buy new membrane filters for it that would seem the best way instead of having to use them and just throw away

I have been also wondering why people don't just use these filtering systems where you just have to put in new membrane filters. Any specific reason people like @XKawN who seem to brew alot dont just set up such a system?

Cant you just get these items and start brewing? Of course the initial cost would be higher than what you would spend on a few syringe filters but when producing severel hundreds of ml's of different compounds wouldn't this be the better solution, or is there somewhere a problem with how sterile it would be?
