So... chest day. Worked out in the morning and remembered why I switched chest days to the evening. No gas.

405 x 0 fucking cocksucker motherfucker. I went a little too low on my touch point and had no speed off my chest. Stalled halfway up and held it for damn near 10 seconds. Pushed so hard with my legs my back started to cramp bad.

Good session Brutus. After fighting hard and missing a heavy bench attempt I have to drop 20 to 30 pds. to have any shot.

It takes a lot of food to stay at 280 when your hitting the iron hard.
Man I thought I had it. So fucking frustrating that I have such a hard time with it at my weight. I feel like I should be moving so much more... I am super anxious to switch to straight powerlifting but I am staying the course.and starting October first.

Weight gains have been stagnant the last few days... guess you can't gain every day, but it would be nice. Do you have to force feed like this when you powerlifting masters?

Still haven't done the fucking shoulder day. Fired three managers at my job so doing my job along with their fucking jobs... like an insane asylum where I am the guest of honor... a potty training three year old I have 50/50 custody of, back with an ex girlfriend and the list of excuses goes on and on. Trying to vary my diet a bit too. Laying easy on eggs a few days here. Just ate two giant cheese and salami sandwiches with a half inch of mayo and cooking up 8lbs of cooped chicken breast with two big bags of stir fry mix and teriyaki sauce with a vat of rice. Wish me luck lol.... might be a few bowls of lucky charms in my future too.
 
Shit @brutus79 I wouldn't sweat the bench bro. My fuckin bench is disgustingly horrible an fuckin pisses me off everytime I take a look at the damn thing sitting there lol. Sunday I put up 225 which is my pr. It went up veeerrrrry slowly. Tbh I didn't think i was ever even gonna get it locked out. Fuckin sux an I feel like I should be repping 225 like everyone can an does smfh:( O well it is what it is so fuck it:rolleyes: Keep killin it brut. Your a beast homie an that's all there is to it bro;):cool:

Try not to let that bench get in your head @Skull My bench has allways been my weak spot. It took me forever to hit 3 wheels "315". And TBH I still struggle with it at times and don't allways get it. I feel like my body does not have the rite dynamics to have a superior bench. I can squat big weight and deadlift even bigger weight, but my bench has allways struggled over the last 12 years of training. TBH, I'm probably not doing it rite it training it rite. I'm my own worst enemy sometimes. For many years I would avoid try'n a PR at bench cuz I would be so discouraged and mad for day on end if I failed it. When I realized I wanted to bodybuild years ago, I started smashing incline bench more then flat so I could develop a nice hood and it worked great. Now that I'm older I'm leaning more torwards strength and power lifting like @brutus79 is. It's fun. It's refreshing. It's exciting. There is so much comroddery in that community too. I also don't want to have to shave and tan and where tites for physique or BB comps. Don't get me wrong, I still love that stuff. I'm just having more fun powerlifting. Moral of the story is this. Keep destroying that bench. It won't get easier, but you will get better, I promise!!

Don't sweat it about the feeling you can do more..good days bad days...one of my workout partners pisses me off at time hes 6 ft around 250..pulled a 680 dead at the end of chest workout the other day
 
If I may fst-7 is a veru effective way to train for maximal muscle, it is more or less a hyper body building program.

So I call foul........ Just for shit and giggles, agree with brutus fst training will inherently zap some syrength, no doubt!!!

But on with the games!!!!!
 
I'm thinking of dropping the seven sets of 12 at the end of my splits. I think it is killing strength gains... @Docd187123 @insertnamehere ?

Like Doc said, for strength goals, its adding unnecessary fatigue which at best will be hindering/delaying your progress.

However, I believe the level of conditioning you have will be a huge asset when switching to strength and power specific program.
 
I'm no expert in this fellas, I just pick up heavy shit and lift and hope it makes me stronger and bigger but many of yall know that I just did the FST-7 program for 9 weeks and during that time my strength went way up and I broke 2 PRs. I agree that it's not a strength training program and is designed more for a body builder but refer back to Brutus and Johhnys previous logs and they defiantly added strength to their portfolio. Anyway just an observation. I fucking love FST-7 and will use it for years to come. That's just me though. I hate strength training

Chasing the pump at the tail end has been around forever.I think its another important part of the puzzle and enhances strength gains.
