I been dieting for 3 months now no cheat meals and regularly traing programs 5 days week. I have lost 20 lb so far but need to drop another 25. I'm getting bored with my diet and been craving something like pizza or ice cream . I'm very serious about loosing the next 25lb but how far behind will I get if I was to just take a day of eating these foods ?

Don't do it. Stay hard. Thank me later.

Another 6 to 9 months and they will subside. You won't consider those foods as human foods after a few years.

In 5 years you can try them again but you won't have a taste for them any longer if you ate your sardines and Brussel sprouts religiously like you were supposed to.

You aren't ready yet. Huge mental setback to place that shit back in your mouth right now.

When im cutting i can have a cheat meal on the weekend since I run low carbs during the week. If the cheat meal dosent make my weight loss stall I dont see the harm in it. I have read a bit about the benifits from carbing up/ having a cheat meal on the weekends. It works great for me. I am really strict with carbs during the week though. Maybe around 100g. Gettn shredded :D The cheat meals make it easier on my stomach when i get ready to blow up

Your jones'ing like a crackhead. Ignore the cravings like a junkie in a hotel room with $100 to spend. Its a chronic addiction as apposed to an acute addiction like drugs. This mindset helped me break my addiction to fast food a decade ago.

I don't consider anything from a freezer or the centre isles of the Gstore food now. I took a bite of a pop tart for the first time ever about a year ago, it was the weirdest shit ever.

What works for me is 4 to 7 weeks. If you do you are one that dose it 1 a week. It's very hard to make up for what you just worked for during the week so I would try to eat those cheats further out

This is one of the weirdest conversations about low carb diets.

You can lose body fat without cutting carbs.

If low carb diets make you need a huge refeed, maybe low carb diets aren't for you. Some people do great long-term on low carb.

All this tribal bullshit is the bane of my existence.

From my experience it sets you back a day or two but I try to counteract it by eating my cheat foods surrounding workouts just in case the cravings are warranted (maybe your lacking a specific nutrient/fatty acid/carbs/etc.) and might lead to increased performance in the gym

Or you could just go eat a cheat meal like a normal person and enjoy your fucking life a little bit!

Sometimes it really can be this simple

Some people really liked Carb Nite which was low carb all week with a real dessert one night a week

It was never enough to cancel out the energy deficit created during the rest of the week, and gave people something to look forward to. It also had pretty big online communities on social media which probably helped with adherence, getting tips & trouble shooting which seems good on any program.

A cheat meal a week keeps me sane and motivated to push through until next week. I'm doing 35 meals a week, if one of them is burger and fries or whatever, where's the issue?

If you enjoy food more than average people you can only go so far without eating something "forbidden" before you go off the rails and end up with a binge eating disorder (I've been there in the past).

Hey man! First off, big respect 20 lbs down is no joke! But one full cheat day isn’t gonna ruin your progress, not even close. Our bodies just don’t store fat that fast from a single day of overeating. There’s actually research showing that a short-term surplus like that doesn't magically turn into fat overnight, your body can only absorb and store so much at once. What does hurt progress more is when you’re slightly overeating every single day, that’s the kind of thing that slowly adds up.

I do a full cheat day once a month while cutting and still get great results. Just enjoy it, no guilt, and get right back on track after. You’re doing great!
