Chemman's log

Yea that's what I'm thinking. As long as I employ HCG in the TRT protocol, then I should be OK if I want/need to stop later down the road.

Why? Just start with the test. Sub HCG in after a few months if you really feel it is necessary. Right now just start on T and determine if that brings any improvement.

Yea that is a good point. Starting 2 things at once will make it difficult to tell what is going on. But long-term TRT without HCG to keep my nuts from shriveling up is a bad choice for me as well. So if I do start shots, I'll wait for a while before HCG to see if the T is helping.

X-ray of ankle was fine, so at least I'm not breaking bones. Must be tendonitis I guess. I'm wondering if low testosterone makes one more prone to injuries.

I also keep psyching myself out thinking maybe testosterone is not my problem and maybe it's a thyroid problem that wasn't captured on the labs, etc. Driving myself nuts.

I have a feeling that my T levels are better sometimes than others. I'll be relatively ok and then all the symptoms creep back in. This will last for up to several days. Then I'll start feeling a little better for a day and then I'm back to feeling shitty again. Assuming that the rest of my endocrine system is still doing ok, this must be my T levels going up and down. I wonder if this parallels the experiences of others who struggle with hypogonadism.

Just logging this so I can remember it later.

Definitely felt better today. And low and behold, my nuts are hard as rocks right now lol.

Nuts are still hard. Mentally doing a lot better. Joints not as crackly. Now I have an f-ing conundrum. To start TRT or not? It's hard to commit to something like this when it feels like I could be getting over the hump. But I have had this feeling before and then had a total relapse within a few days.

Now that I am done with school, I am back home for a while. I've been sleeping 10-12 hours/night and feasting on good food during the day. I think it's definitely helping reduce my stress levels. Or maybe I just feel better because my hormones are starting to come back to life. This is all speculation. Should have the T results from last week very soon.

it's funny man, i think we are somewhat similar in our journey/path. i was totally convinced my issue was low "T" (i had the blood works to show I did have low T) but going onto T injections killed my libido which was my primary concern in the first place.

Not saying I didn't have low T, I did. But bumping up "T" isn't always the magic pill solution.

Good that you are self aware.... it'll definetly drive you crazy when you know something is "off" in your body, but not totally sure of the cause.

Whatever course of action you take, hope it works out for you.

What is your story again man?

You said tribulus root messed you up?

Are you waiting for your blood work after the 4 doses of clomid you took?

Pretty much. Tribulus messed me up (documented with labs!) and rapid weight loss/excessive exercising sent me over the edge. And man it was (kinda still is) brutal.

Feeling distinctly better today. Probably the best I've felt since about a year ago. Still no libido and shitty erections, however.

New labs are in. Good news/bad news.

Good
Ferritin is rising: 59 [20-300]
TSH is back to normal: 0.61 [0.36-3.74]
Arthritis panel: negative
CBC: normal

Bad
Testosterone: 327 [240-1000]
Free Testosterone: 3.12 [2.50-10.50]
%Free testosterone: 0.95 [0.62-1.75]

So this rules out thyroid problems in my opinion. There is only one thing left to tackle: low testosterone.

I will be filling a prescription tomorrow for HCG. 3 week trial, then take labs and assess how I feel. If no good, then move to injectable testosterone.

Tsh is not an indicator of thyroid function
i had patient with tsh of .61 and had low ft4 and ft3 so your assumption is may be far off.
Need longer then 3 weeks to get a full understanding on what is going on more like 5-6 till body feels the full effect of the treatment. To not get over anxious.
