Hello friends,

As you may already know, the supplement market is flooded with products contaminated with prohibited substances (see references below). This is no different when it comes to gray market products such as synthol. Often sold under the guise of tanning oil, synthol completely flies under the radar of the already ineffective regulators. This injectable oil-based product is often manufactured on the same equipment as PEDs, resulting in heavy contamination. Manufacturers may also intentionally spike their synthol to give them a market edge. To the natural bodybuilder this can be both career destroying and health damaging.

Allow me to present two case studies.

A local athlete submitted synthol for analysis. RP-HPLC analysis was performed and four esters of testosterone were detected.

A natural bodybuilder submitted synthol for analysis. RP-HPLC analysis was performed and methenolone enanthate was detected.

Fear not, friends, for I am pleased to announce the launch of my analytical lab and related services, based right here in the USA. I will start small, offering only the WADA Prohibited Assay for synthol, but I intend to expand into oral health supplements, peptides, etc.

For now, my lab is equipped only with an HPLC. This presents some limitations. For example, from my understanding, the compound drostanolone (and all its esters) requires mass spectrometry for detection. Additionally, there are some more exotic contaminants, such as testosterone acetate, which are poorly described in the literature, ergo I have not yet been able to incorporate them into my methods. I hope to overcome these limitations in due time.

There is no better time than now to have your synthol tested! I will offer an introductory price of $100 for the first month, followed by $140 thereafter.

Please visit my website at chromate.org for more info.

For orders and inquiries, email: hello@chromate.org
Note: owing to the sensitive nature of synthol use, I have configured my email address with ProtonMail. All emails between Proton accounts will be E2E encrypted.

I am not sure how to edit the main post, but for now I will be accepting US clients only.

I will provide a free analysis to the first three customers who contact me.

Not many bodybuilders use synthol...

That's more of a Hollywood star/lazy type of clientele.

I've actually never met someone who uses synthol.

Do you have a DEA license to accept controlled substances?

Can you post a photo of your machines?

Is there any other forums you've hosted your services on that we can see?

There is no need for a DEA license as we do not receive any controlled substances. We simply seek to detect and quantify the adulterants present in OTC products -- if you've taken a look at the literature I referenced above, you'd know these adulterants include AAS.

To achieve this, we utilize a progesterone internal standard and apply a response factor multiplier unique to each analyte. It is an unusual method but highly effective. So far we are able to detect and quantify 12 anabolic adulterants which may be present in synthol oil.

Are you gonna post proof of your equipment or just continue to try and steal people’s money
I am offering free analyses precisely to demonstrate my abilities, but here you go.

You are welcome to send in a sample at no charge.

Actually you do need a DEA license...And the address you gave me to send a same to, is a bar and grill.

Well, I wish you luck and hope you can expand to cover most of the needs of the community. A US based testing service would be an invaluable resource. Only time will tell, though.

Also, a subscriber tag should be incoming.

I get it. So you test our “OTC” substances and report back any “contaminants” ;) ;)

Does it have to be a solution or do you test powders too

Thank you for your kind words. I have no ill will here. My primary goal is to reduce unnecessary harm within the health and fitness community. I believe together we can build something great.

Precisely. It seems that few people understand how widespread the problem of contamination is in the supplement industry. I will expand into creatine, ecdysterone, tribulus powders, peptides, etc, but first I'd like to gain some practice with synthol.

I personally took adulterated synthol and consequently developed gynecomastia which required an expensive surgery to fix.

My mission is to prevent this from happening to anyone else.

Has anyone mailed this source a sample yet? I'd be very interested to know how it compares to janoshik and I'll pay half the cost to jano to the first person who sends in a double blind sample to both parties.

Admittedly I am afraid to considering the address I was given, and the fact he seems to believe he's working in the clear and a DEA license isn't required. It's concerning.

I just sent out a blind sample last night. I made sure to give a fake return address. God forbid. If I do get results, I will make sure to post.

Uh yeah. Good luck with that long term. May I recommend some initial money well spent seeking legal counsel before you get yourself in a heap of trouble?

All I sent was a sample of “perfume”. plausible deniability, nothing is linked to me so I’m not worried.
