Slept on the mountain last night in a hammock he chilled under me all night and Didn't move at all but the second I got up he ran up this rock face, made for a decent photo. Crazy how loyal this dog is he scared off a bear and didn't leave my side all night. I don't even own a leash for him either it has never been needed he will always stay on my side unless given the command to go.

During speech processing, human listeners can separately analyze lexical and intonational cues to arrive at a unified representation of communicative content. The evolution of this capacity can be best investigated by comparative studies. Using functional magnetic resonance imaging, we explored whether and how dog brains segregate and integrate lexical and intonational information. We found a left-hemisphere bias for processing meaningful words, independently of intonation; a right auditory brain region for distinguishing intonationally marked and unmarked words; and increased activity in primary reward regions only when both lexical and intonational information were consistent with praise. Neural mechanisms to separately analyze and integrate word meaning and intonation in dogs suggest that this capacity can evolve in the absence of language.

best book Call of the Wild, Jack London, easy read, take ya a day, great dog book, and much more reading between the lines and if you care to learn about the author, must have read that book10 times
My new puppy is acting like a devil. chewing on everything, especially the children. Some of my family is getting pissed. But I just read this is normal behavior and they just don;t get it. I am going to explain to them how to correct the errors the dog makes. When did everybody start to have there dog stop biting everything?

My dog was about 6 months. He used to bite our feet if they hit the ground. I looked on line and did this... got a soda can and put coins in it. Everytime the dog bit someone I shook the bottle. Appearantly the sound really bothers them. It worked in about 2.5 days.
Remember you can do this, but only for one thing. The dog will associate it with biting and stop. But you cant use it for another bad behavior. It will confuse it.
Ok this sounds like it may have to be done soon if the behavior doesnt stop. The dam puppy is so amazing it just needs to learn more. I need to learn more too. I read a book on training and going to try the methods. That was in there, the coins in can.
6 months isnt too bad. How about going to the bathroom outside, or housebreaking? How long for that?
I trimmed it's nails for the first time too. I just wish it would sit still!!

Eh. Took me about a year to get it completely potty trained. Didnt help I started out in a 4th floor apartment. I started using pads for indoor until I got a yard.
Its on you more than the dog for potty training. If you want it to go outside you have to be alert so whenever it looks like it might use the bathroom take it outside. If it doesnt use the bathroom go back in. When it does go outside praise it and give it a treat. At the least it will equate going potty outside with a treat (even though my dog is 4 and still wants one when he goes

Im sure some other dog owners will have better ways for potty training. Ill admit I had to oay for new carpet in my apartment.
