There's no off-topic here.Shit, good thing I'm not the only one going apeshit on Saturday. Took a ruck, packed some gear planned it out so I would go 40 miles but couldn't touch pavement and highway. Holy motherfuckin shit the things that I had to go through, inclines, ditches, creeks, slopes, thorns and everything else in between. Rained all morning then the sun finally decided to show up. Finally made it out towards Cabarrus County, called it in and got an x-fill.
Toes numb, calcaneus, tarsals, talus, joint, tib, fib, all majorly screaming at me with the quads on fire. But point was proven, to myself I think. That shits doable, that you gotta keep pushin. Finished it off going to Lake Wylie yesterday having restless issues couldn't sit still, so just enjoyed the sun with some meat on the grill while listening to a woman that wants me to slow down, but I gotta stay on my freq.
Moral of all this rant, hope I didn't go off topic, or steal the thread TEK.
.... Smooth as Tennessee Whiskey.
you're my go to reference...you and OGH got me covered. I don't know much about these new trucks except how to tear em up. What did you end up doing for rubber?Would this be the place for automotive related things as well? I'm tearing apart my front end on my pickup soon. I just gotta finish parts grabbing and money saving
UCA,LCA, Tie rods, shock assembly, calipers, pads, rotors and if I can top it off I REALLY wanna fit an eaton e locker in the front diff (that one may not happen due to cost) stretching funds thin as a razor right now.
I figured its related since my truck is my gateway to everything outdoors. I could do pics and small tutorials for the unfamiliar stuff. If yall ain't interested no biggie. This homeboy don't pay for shit to be done. Not on my truck. Pride
Fuck man...like I said funds are spread thin. I wanna tackle all the front end work plus the e locker. That way my rig finally has a fully locked 4x4 capability front and rear. Run the switches to the cab n all. Rubber will be skimped for now. I'm a gonna look c at some BFG's (used) in 315/70R17 for those of you that don't speak fluent tire that's 35x12.5. After 70k miles my BFG's are used up. I'll hopefully have a new pair later (few months)you're my go to reference...you and OGH got me covered. You are always welcome in my neck of the woods if you wanna fall off the grid for a night, it's hard for me to get away for extended trips outside of work.Glad to hear I'm not stepping on anyone's toes. Like to ask before I go into another mans refrigerator.
I have Belleville One Xero 320's Ultra Light Assault Boots.
They breathe, and once your foot gets accustomed to them, you don't want to wear anything else. I got 2 pairs of em one for work and the others when I'm off.
Speaking of pine, I got so torn up half way through the pinelands down here and trying to hold a fuckin azimuth while pace counting that not even half way through it I got a fair share of getting scratched up. Used the pine resin method on the scratches, worked like a charm. By the time I finished it all crusted up and dried up nicely. Little survival techniques.
Have been itching hitting the Mountains for a little bit, just pack a ruck and hit the wilderness for a few days. Sometimes you just need to go into the woods and escape for a minute. I swear the mountains are callin me bad, so fuckin bad that I want to move up there for good. We'll see what the future has to offer, but trying to find the time to hit the woods sometimes soon. It's been 2 long.
The glue method works wonders that your describing.
Shit the only thing I'm afraid of is I will not want to leave the wilderness.
That's my comfort zone, I get into a city and it's like a jungle out here.

i the cheap route bc I needed rubber asap for the winter. 2in front level with the aluminum spacers from rough country...truck has high miles so it sits perfect with 2 up front. 295/70/18 trail grapplers on a stock 7.5 wheel, nice tire. They dont clean as well as some of the other true M/T designs, but they are surprisingly quiet on the highway and will jump up a wall in the snow. Couldnt be happier for mtn conditions, I don't spend nearly as much time in that slick georgia clay anymore so it's a good balance. I wanted that new Dick Cepek but they where on backorder at the time...would buy again.Currently running a 325/60/18 on mine.

I been back n forth to NY which is 1600 miles 8x now. Each time with shit in tow n shit in the bed. As light as 3500 as heavy as 6800 (all cat scaled) that and the trail use regularly keeps me a returning Ford supporter again and again. The competition can make all the bloated fan boy commercials all they want but the best 1/2 ton is a ford. If your gonna use it. Plus it's 'merican. And the standard for the industry 39 yrs straight.Good lookin rig TNE , reminds me of my old 99 Ram 4x4 360 , pulled a heavy load from Oklahoma to Oregon without a problem (Kodiak 4x4 in bed)(Ducati ss-900 m/c in trailer). Great trucks ...

I gotta follow up...you having any wear issues with those nitto's. Just curious...also how bout your spacer? That's why I prefer the 315/70 series. It's not a true 35x12.5 and too be honest I never liked the super wide tires. I don't believe it benefits anything offroad and when it rains or snows your skating. I had wide mudders on my last lifted Ford and this leveled truck can do every trick and then some the big one could do. When I first started out i liked the high ride and the aggressive tires but the older and more experienced I get I prefer my truck closer to the ground for balance. After all. A lift kit doesn't actually make your truck further from the ground. Only tires do that. And these gen fords can run 35's on a leveldont go wide man...tall and narrow
So do you guys order your tires or buy them at your local tire dealer? Costs me around 16-1800$ to put new rubber on my Dodge and they are nothin special, just AT. And at 31" they look tiny on my truck but 33" or 35" run about 2000$ and im a cheap fucker. So im wondering if ordering and shipping them in might be a better price for a better tire. That's why I prefer the 315/70 series. I've used em all and will vouch for each one. Rubber is a commodity and one place will not always have the cheapest prices. So find what you want specifically and compare prices boss. 33's would be perfect on your truck. If you don't haul heavy much go 35's. Big dodge needs bigger cleats.
Those prices are fucking ridiculous unless your buying 20's then it's your fault
