I say nay nay! They are not the same mechanics as a regular squat and don't do the same for overloading as knee wraps do. Briefs will make you squat in a more equipped manner with wide feet and ducked out they don't suit your style at all sorry to sayThat's the formal one, correct?
Also, how much do the squat briefs add and how much were they? I'm curious about them as a more convenient overload than knee wraps.

Ya unless you start competing in single ply or double there is no reason for briefs, I had the same thought thinking it would help but learned it was for wife stance squatters who need stopping power and both of us are medium rebound squatters. It's too bad you never got those stranglers. Wraps are a pain I've opted for reverse band squats for overloading when I was off programThanks, I know nothing about the things. I trust you and won't bother with them though. Sure don't need to spend the money unnecessarily.
Wraps are such a pain, lol. I need to invest in a wrap roller. I am in the market for some wraps that'll suit me better. I'm thinking the Powerbelly Executioners are my best bet because of the rebound.

Block pulls are great for building a strong lockout but if breaking the floor is your issue then deficit deadlift or reverse band deadlifts are the way to go.I've thought about reverse bands for deadlift. I feel like block pulls are too different. I prefer full ROM like slingshot or wraps.
I use the briefs because of my age and how much of beating my hips are taking. I don't try to to PR in them. I will do my usually protocol for the day but and a few more reps. It gives my body a much needed break. I use the once per two weeks. I have notice a slight carry over. Here is what Ii did. I ordered a size 44 metal jack briefs. I was able to get into them on my own. But they definitely made it hard for me to squat shoulder width. I have a size 46 also and those allow me to use my regular stance with no issues.Ya unless you start competing in single ply or double there is no reason for briefs, I had the same thought thinking it would help but learned it was for wife stance squatters who need stopping power and both of us are medium rebound squatters. Your not stealing space brother. Your schooling me and others. My lockout is good. So I do mt deficit pulls fro a 45lb plate. I will to 100 lb plate again next week. My explosiveness off the floor has become ridiculous.Block pulls are great for building a strong lockout but if breaking the floor is your issue then deficit deadlift or reverse band deadlifts are the way to go.
Sorry for stealing space in the log franchise
Reverse band deads are awesome bro. I wish my platform had attachments to hook bands up to to do pull with bands from the floor. I feel if I can generate enough force/ explosion form the floor the lockout wont that bad.I've thought about reverse bands for deadlift. I feel like block pulls are too different. Yeah it's the formal one. My size 46 squat briefs might add 50 pounds or more. I haven't pushed them to that limit. I want to stay with in my program. So if that calls for comp squat at an RPE 9X3 I'll add 30 pounds and do reps until I hit RPE 9. The first time I used the squat briefs I did 455 3x8 something like that. Never did 455x8 ever. I did't use the briefs for two weeks and all my squat variations went up. I was able 2 count pause with 405 new territory for me. I was able to get 455 for 6x3, then for 475 6x3. I believe if I relied on them as a crutch and did more work in the briefs then raw then it wouldn't carry over. I use primarily as deload with out really taken a reload. That's the formal one, correct?
Also, how much do the squat briefs add and how much were they? I'm curious about them as a more convenient overload than knee wraps.
If you get briefs since you are a raw after you don't want them tight. Tight enough, but not tight to where it takes two people to get the one, and you have to hang off weird apparatuses to get them on. I got shot slippers which I really don't need. I can slip them on in less than 5 minutes. They were @200 something from elitfts. That's the formal one, correct?

Do banded pulls like myself and @insaiyan93 do it with the band over the bar and around your feet it's super simple I'll shoot you a description if you don't know what I mean.Reverse band deads are awesome bro. Definitely post this up in the gear review that's a gold review for the meso boys!I use the briefs because of my age and how much of beating my hips are taking. I don't try to to PR in them. Yeah bro ATP or APT has gone MIA. But I was able to snag two pairs of Powerbelly Deathrow knee wraps 2.5m. Awesome wraps. I also got the Lillibridge wraps. I will try and review them next week.
No let me tell you this. An Aussie company called Harris Stabilty Systems makes some awesome wraps. I got a pair of the True cast Knee and writ wraps and a pair of the Elite wraps. I have tried both wraps on and the flat good. Of course I can't give a full review until I get my knees wrapped up and under the bar to give feed back. The True Cast wrist wraps are by far the best wraps I have used.
I will number the wraps from 1-10. 1 sucking 10 being best
I've used:
Harris Stability True Cast wrist wrap: They cast like a mother fucker with minimum effort. And the velcro strap is long.
Sig Golds: Great Wrap one of my favorites but the the Velcro trap is to short. And they tend to unravel at the worst times. These are cast wraps with little giver stretch.
THP's: Good entry level wrap. Stretchy but not to stretchy decent support not cast like.
Powerbelly Executioners: Good wrap. Stretchy to a minimum. You can get a cast like effect but not super cast. Very Comfortable and the velcro strap is long enough to secure the wrap on you r wrist.
Slingshot Gangster wraps: I hate these. To stretchy. Yes I can crank them down but they won't cast.
Metal All Black: Same as the gangsta wraps. Even more stretchy.
Elitefts Javelin: Decnt wraps will provide good support up to about 275 315 bench. Forget about squatting low bar with 405 or more.
Elitefts Constrictor: These are stronger than the javelins. Provide a semi cast so pretty good.
EliteFts Krait: The most cast like out of all the Elitefts wrist wraps I have here. Best ones out of the Elitefts brand.
Here is my rating:
Harris Stability Systems True Cast Wrist Wraps (10)
Sig Golds (8) would be high if it wasn't for the short velcro strap.
THP's (6) I like cast wraps.
Powerbelly Executioners Great all around wrap (8)
Slingshot Gangster wraps. I hate them (2)
Metal All Black Hate here also to stretchy. (2)
Elitefts Javelin Decent entry level wrap (5)
Eiltefts Constictor (7)
Eliefts Krait good emkcast wrap not a bad option (8)
In the coming months I will be reviewing the Pioneer Lillibridge wraps, Pioneer Phantom Wraps. Harris Stability True cast, Elite and and Supremacy wraps. I will also review Harris Stability 9MM neoprene knee sleeves two inches thicker than SBD. Obviously not approved by any fef yet but they will be soon. I will also review the 9mm neoprene elbow sleeves. I guess I can say I might be biased towards Harris Stability Systems. They also make a 7mm knee sleeve. The only issue is the don't have an American distributor so shipping is outrageous. I will contact them tomorrow since I plan on making a decent size order and see how we can offset the shipping cost. Maybe with some discounts on the gear.

Yes show me hoe to do it with band around the bar and feet. I am assuming it's a mini band. I have plenty of those.

Got ya covered haha let smelly do the work
Thanks Brooki. I will be adding these in for sure.
