Gear review

Today's a historic day. Picked up my first ever piece of lifting gear. Got these for $8 because they were on the wrong rack. Win.

Next week I'll be ordering my slingshot, with the wraps and cuffs combo. Forget the name, but it's the yellow one.

Wife will picking me up a belt for xmas. Imma look through the thread and try to find the best one.

Thata a good start, ask the wife to order you an Inzer lever belt you will never regret it. It has been the best purchase I ever made for lifting

Was looking on the inzer site a bit... have any of you guys used the briefs or erecter shirts? If so, what do you think about them?

@Ickyrica

Have had a pair of those for a couple years now. Love them. They're beat to shit now but I've set about every PR the last few years in them. Can't beat them for the price. Hard to retire them, but I recently picked up a different pair of shoes to try out to lift in. We will see how that goes.

bump this bad boy.

got some new shoes today. I've been going slow for some time, watching my boobs grow. new shoes made me run faster as a kid. maybe now I'll lift more with these guys?? I liked the all black...View attachment 53059
Same exact ones I have. Had some low tops first and didn't like so much, love the new ones, and the all black is sexy too.

I've read good things about them. now I just need a home gym! I also hold onto all of my stuff till the bitter end. It pains me to throw away old t-shirts, lol.

I know that feeling. I caved 2 weekends ago and made up a giant bag of clothes and other items to donate. The clutter and the amount of crap just piling up was getting to me. It was really hard to let go of some of the shirts as they're band shirts from years ago. But they don't fit me and never will again so they needed to go

I can personally confirm these are able to deadlift at least 545, got the same pair and they've done me proud for a long time. Also fun fact converse are only second to boxing shoes for skipping rope which is really nice for when you suckas skipping rope and need every advantage you can get

and what on God's green earth is the second bar from the right for? imitation rack pulls?

I'm guessing its for squats.

I'd love to try that safety squat bar. Looks like a sweet gym!!

Also looks like its in someone's house.

It's a perfect gym if you want to grow, get stronger and/or compete in any way. It's an old building in my town, circa late 1800s. The owner turned it into a gym some odd years ago and it's going strong. It's not super clean, heavy loud music is on the stereo, chalk all over the place, bands and chains everywhere, boards for chest, DB go to 175#, all sorts of bars (they have an additional rack with different bars than what was pictured), a GHD, and the list piles on.

A lot of experience floating around as well. I'm out of excuses now boys! ;)

I'm investing some time to get familiar with what they have and how to use it all correctly. It's kind of insane to go from a place with one squat rack and a mentality that heavy squats and deads aren't appropriate to a real BB/PL gym. Super pumped, pun intended!

The final straw was when I was kindly asked not to deadlift anymore and squats shouldn't be as heavy as I was going, they didn't feel comfortable. Shit, I'm barely over 4 plates!! My new gym has a few bars that are literally bent.
