Gear review

I have almost nothing. Some chucks I wear for squats (I do DL in socks), some harbinger wrist wraps, some gloves Ive for 10 years and hardly ever wear (Brutus made me feel like a pussy), and I just got some wrist straps today. Ive never used em before but they were on sale for nothing so I got em. Maybe they'll help my DL.

By the end of the month Ill have some shoes (I was looking at adidas powerlifts but Im thinking about the romeleos), and my own belt.

Also I need to invest in some chalk too.

I own the Adipower and Adidas powerlift shoes, and I say for my 6'4 body I prefer the cheaper powerlift shoes! I have never tried the Nike before but everyone seems to like them. If youd like I would be happy to send you my powerlift shoes since I don't use them anymore...size 13 I think?

Just recently purchased a 6DS mouthpiece via Brian Shaws raving reviews on them and that I need to wear some form of mouth guard for my fake teeth.

I got absolutely 0 performance from it even though it claims quite a bit. Although it does make me salivate a lot having my mouth slightly ajar while I lift so that's great:confused:

Other items I have:
Sabo deadlift shoe, this is the best possible deadlift shoe you can buy in my opinion, great grip it's as thin as a deadlift slipper and has a meditarsal strap plus it says deadlift right on the shoe so you know your serious.

SBD wrist wraps, great solid construction but I caution you to go with the training version and not the competition version unless your benching 500+ pounds it is unnecessarily stiff

SBD knee wraps, also great construction and tons of rebound out of the training version, not a lot of stop out of them in the bottom but if you can stop it yourself it'll defiantly help you spring out. The competition version will help you stop quite a bit and probably not as much rebound as it is 2x as thick.

So purchased a elevation training mask today and tested it out for a 30min walk at 3.8mph

The results were instant with it made training much more intense for the level I was at and all day since my lungs have felt amazing and it's like I actually worked them I believe it will increase my VO2 Max but it's just the first day so I'll have a update on it in the future.

New update on the 6ds mouth guard I have been doing a set on and a set off with it for my workouts past week and I'll say it helps slightly with my OHP it makes me concentrate on breathing better for my squat but does jack shit for deadlift or bench press, actually it makes me spit when I bench heavy cause my mouth is slightly open.

Also on the list for today is my basis peak watch been wearing it for 4 days now only taking it off to wipe it down with a alcohol pad to disinfect is so I don't get a rash that so many people complain about with these kinds of watches, seemed obvious to me to disinfect it regularly if I'm sweating on it and keeping it tight on my arm all the time but I'm a precise kinda guy I guess. Anyways about the watch it is simple to use the watches interface is a slide touch screen and it has a back screen light tells time, has a stopwatch and a silent alarm that buzzes you awake at a good point to wake you during your sleep cycle close to your alarm time (this has been the best waking up I've ever had I wake up every time ready for the day instead of needing that 5 minutes to get ready to face the day) also it always tracks your steps (pointless in my opinion I don't care how many steps I take a day but I'm averaging 10900 a day) and the big two for me that made me buy the watch a constant heart rate and the most accurate calorie tracker available for you wrist and I've got to say I think it is bang on for accuracy. It has my BMR at 2016cals which is right where it should be and it matches all my running scores for calorie lose but the best part is that it accurately tracks how many calories I'm burning while I SQUAT! This is amazing to watch the calories burn faster every rep the higher the weight how it does this I don't know but I fiddle around with it and it can tell how much effort your putting in. Bottom line I fricken love this watch! It is amazing, it's spendy at 200 bucks but if you are looking to accurately track your in and it for the best possible progression in your cut or even your lean bulk then I'd say buy it!

Bumping this with my new products.

Matt chans rogue barbell is unreal the knurling is 21" gap in the middle so if you have a wider foot placement for your conventional deadlift you aren't destroying your shins. There is a mild centre knurling just enough to grab a shirt during squats but not enough to cut your throut during a clean or front squat. The knurling on the outside of the 21" gap is very aggressive and awesome to hold no slippage at all with 405 double overhand pull!

Northern lights gravity boots
I've only used them once as I purchased them today for a back injury that happened yesterday but they decompressed my entire spine to the point it felt funny to walk afterwards cause I was so loose. These are basically an inversion table without having to take up the space an inversion table needs.

Serious steel voodoo floss
If you don't own voodoo floss go out and purchase it right now! This is the signal best rehab purchase I've ever made. Got an ache in your elbow wrap it for 1-3mins and move your arm around take it off boom no ache. Knee hurts? Wrap it and squat a few times boom no pain. It's incredible!

Basis peak watch
I purchased the watch about a month ago and i made sure to wipe it down with alcohol everyday as people complained of a rash it gave them. Well I got the rash even from doing this and although absolutely everything on the watch worked amazingly, super accurate calorie count, cool features such as sleep analysis and my favourite part constant heart rate monitoring, I still ended up returning it because the rash was getting to bad even rotating wrists each day. If you don't rash up its a great purchase though.

More products to be reviewed but that's all for tonight.

As many know here in a big workout gear guy and I've tried most and investigated the others. What I'd like to do for the ones interested is make this thread dedicated to what workout gear you have used and what did you like and not like about it and would you reccomend it to a meso bro. Also toss out some items your interested in using to see if anyone has used it and can give you some feed back.

This is about 85% of my collection and I am not gonna bang out everything in this post but if there is something you see that you want me to comment on let me know and I'm happy to shoot the shit.

So in decending order from my favourite must haves down it goes:
1) Nike Romaleos 2, great solid shoe for squats, bench press and OHP these bad boys have withstood the test of time being 3 years old now and still look brand new. The grip is phenomenal and it's a very solid platform to lift off of. The only down side is the top meditarsal strap is too long but nothing a pair of scissors couldn't fix on day one.
2) SBD knee sleeves, I have ordered 3 pairs of them and only ordered new ones because I outgrew the previous one. They are too notch for stability and pop outa the hole compared to any number of sleeves I've tried. The downside is they take some effort to put on but hey gotta work hard if you wanna get anywhere right.
3) inzer 10mm single prong belt, this was a close tie for second but I occasionally squat without it and I'd never squat without my sleeves. The belt is solid and will last me my whole lifting career I have no doubt about it. Does what it's suppose to do and is made well. Downside is out of box it's stupidly stiff so it's going to take some time to break it in and in that time you may get some blood blisters when it pinches you.
4) mark bell full boar slingshot, this thing changed my bench game. I was stalled out for months and once I got this it helps correct form and you can overload the triceps with a ridiculous amount of weight. I went from plateauing on 275 for 3 months to lifting 315 for a paused single in 2.5 months. (Disclaimer other factors do apply here as well.... Cough cough tren cough)
5) Mark bell hip circles and compression cuff. The hip circle is amazing for dynamic warm ups as well as reinforcement of driving the knees out during the squat and activating the glutes more so I use it for my first warm up set every day as well. I have the hip circle and the 2.0 version and the original is just right I find the 2.0 to not really add much more and they increased the diameter of it so unless you have 30"+ thighs then it's not needed. As for the cuffs I use them for my elbows as a way to train through the elbow pain that constant heavy lifting produces on them in combination with my job. They are well made as is everything with mark bell but unfortunately don't come in half sizes so it's either 10" or 11" and they recommend sizing an inch down for snug fit and I'm 11.4" so I've done 11 and 10. I can wear the 11 all day but barely gives support for heavy lifts were as I can were the 10s for about 2 mins enough time to do a heavy set and then I slide them down my arm till my next set so I wish I could have a 10.5 that's my only gripe about them.

Feel free to ask any questions I've used most brands and most products as my lifting friends are also into gear and we tend to purchase opposite brands. Also take this as my .02 on the products and not a definitive guide about each one as it should be this is biased and subjective to the individual.

So let's hear it what do you got and why do you like it!

This post made you my hero.

What a re your thoughts on wrist wraps as far as wrist stability for bench press? Now that I'm getting up towards the 300lb mark (sad I know, but hey its a work in progress) I notice that from time to time I get some discomfort in my wrists, especially on my heavier close grips, I've heard wrapping can help keep them steady and help with this, any truth to that?

100% truth to it brother I reccomend SBD wrist wraps the training version as competition version are far too stiff for everyday training. If I'm not mistaken your a fairly big boy so I would go with the large version. Myself and @ROB581211 both have the medium training SBD wraps and love them makes for a very solid press. Don't cheap out with the sportscheck or generic ones though as they don't give any good support. Go with a good brand like SBD or inzer etc etc.

Yeah I'm a big fella, got pretty large forearms/wrists so I will definitely go for the large ones. Thanks for the tip man!
