Gear review

@franchise24 I really don't like you... telling me about the bow tie so of course I had to buy one and where else then from rogue Canada cause they always send me free shit with orders but that's not why I don't like you.... it's cause I had racked up a huge shopping cart while on rogue and now my bank account doesn't like me so I have to pay the dislike forward:oops:

But seriously thanks for the heads up and details about the bow tie I think this is going to help huge for me working on my thoracic spine issues. I bought a formal in large cause I'm just a wee guy at 190lb and figure even if I'm on the smaller side of it should be fine for my purposes
:) I am glad you don't like me now. It's for a good reason. I haven't had a workout without it since getting it. I ordered another one, one size smaller. I plan to wear that around the house and while I drive and on heavy pulls.

Looking more and more like I'm going to have to jump on the bow tie bandwagon. Is the formal one wearable for long periods? I'm a simple working man and I've gotta go into this decision with the right info.
Here is my opinion. If you use the formal for hours upon hours a day you will need to take it off. It's not super aggressive, but aggressive enough that when your muscles start to get pumped it will tighten.

Based off your weight you'd fit into a large which goes from 185-225. I got an extra large because I know I'll be at 230 by week's end or mid next week. I also ordered a large for something more aggressive. It will keep my posture right while driving walking around the house, and I will use it for heavy deads.

On bench day it really reinforces scapular retraction. Go with the formal in my opinion.

I've used it every workout since getting it. I've benched, barbell OHP's deads, squats, skull crushers bicep curls, Pendlay rows. You get the picture I use for every exercise. And I only have to take it off about 2-3 times during a session to get a break.

For low bar squats I find it works wonders on my left shoulder. This is the shoulder and elbow that give me trouble with low bar.

Once again this is just another tool in the tool bag. I've a mobility monster for months now and it's paying off. So the combination with upper body mobility exercises and the bowtie make a good marriage.

Like i said I were this bowtie 85%-90% off the day. I wear through my workouts, at home and when I drive. I'll take it off before I get out the car. I don't want to look like a weirdo. LolView attachment 65838

i wore mine a couple times throughout the day yesterday. then for all of my warm ups for deads before my top set. then used it again on my drop sets. first time ive worn it multiple times during the day, and let me say, my deads were moving QUICK. going to my religious about using this more often. wearing it right now as a matter of fact.

Like you I'm wearing just as much. Wearing it everywhere I go. All my workouts at home. I'll take off to go to the store. But once I'm back in the car, it goes back on. Thanks for telling us about this great tool.

It's more for my wife but I figured why not join the party, right? All this talk about good posture and what not, plus it's short $$

Ordered a formal for myself and a casual for the wife today. You guys made it sound like a must have...
It's a must have for sure. Especially since we tend to press more than pull. And or having a desk job will cause bad posture and internal rotation of your shoulders. Which causes the moderate to severe pain many of us lifters deal with.
I get mine on Monday pretty pumped to bring it into my meet prep. Done a ton of research on them now and haven't found anything but amazing claims from fixing shoulders to back problems and all
You'll love it bro. I got my size Large today a bit more aggressive but still can wear it for up to an hour at time. My back is pretty beat up from the military. I was reviewing my medical records yesterday. I have hairline fractures along my spine and back. And some other things. But wearing the formal.Bowtie has definitely made my back feel better, but hadn't cured it. No cure for my shitty back. I suck it up and deal with it.

You'll enjoy it and it will make wife look like she has triple D's with the casual bowtie.

Ya ain't no cure for my back pain either with three broken vertebrae in my past but anything that helps my thoracic spine and shoulders will help tons

5'2" with triple d action is outstanding sir!! I'll have to get her to let me get a pic topless when shes hooked up :) she's a good sport

Same here brother. Part of thoracic spine extension work is to grab a barbell lay flat on the ground, then grab the barbell close grip and gradually move to the outer rings on an Oly bar.

Then I place a foam roller right on my thoracic and repeat the process.

Next one is I'll take the foam roller and place along my spine let my neck hand freely and hold two 5 pound weights to really open my shoulders up and push them back into place.

Many feds allow the use of a squat and deadlift bar. Some Don't. I will be getting a bar soon. And I have to say I am leaning towards the Eleiko Competition Powerlifting bar. Yes it is expensive compared to what is out there. But I hope to one day open a gym. And the gym will have plenty of specialty bars. Here is a list of bars. I would like to hear some comments on this topic. @BrotherIron. We will start with Okie bars. They are said to have the best deadlift bar. But they also carry other bars as well. I will link the the websites so that the community can make a comparison, and why they choose the bar that specific bar and manufacture.

Olympic Weight Lifting Bars (with this website just scroll down until you see the powerlifting bars).

https://www.eleikoshop.com/collections/bars/products/eleiko-pl-competition-bar-20-kg (Off course this is the bar I want. I will be purchasing a set of calibrated competition weights from Eleiko early this summer).

this is single handed has saved me beyond belief. if anyone is dealing with elbow tendon issues i can not recommend these enough. Iron Rebel Monster Mini compression cuff. im amazed by how much they help.

im not an avid lifting gear guy but these are a must have for me along with a solid belt. if i could only have two pieces of equipment in my bag it would be these and a belt.
These are the shit. I like these more than the slingshot. They are made longer and cover more surface area.

Haha!!! Wait until I post today's fucking workout. After lifting like a little pussy on Thursday I more than made up for it today. I'll post later tonight. Fucking smashed it today. Going to need a deload for sure next week.
