GH Log Long-Term with DEXA and Bloodwork

Ya no worries man. Surgeon said feeling the area would definitely be strange for up to a year or could be more. I'm not too worried... there is really nothing I can do about it at this point, ya know?

I felt the same way. I was actually in a good deal of pain before the surgery. I woke up in the middle of the night n had what felt like the worst heartburn. Hurt so much I actually went to ER. Which is saying a lot cuz I ain't going to the Dr/ER unless I'm dying. Released me later that morning without finding a cause. Had to practically diagnose myself n point it out to the gastrointestinal Dr I was referred to. Spent like 6 weeks in pain waiting for surgery so when time came I was relieved to get it done.

Dude! I told my primary I thought I had a hernia. He felt around and said it was probably nothing. So I've kinda ignored it and told myself I'm being crazy... butttt I was fucking right

The pain comes and goes. Wearing a belt the entire time in gym. So I'm the assume or curling with a belt for now. I'll never judge those dudes again (lies)

Got another DXA today, as I'm going in for surgery next week and stopping GH for 4-6 weeks, so I thought now is a good time to get another scan to view changes.

Average Daily Macro Breakdown:
Calories: 3,100-3,600
Protein: 160-190g
Carbs: 210-270g
Fats: 150-215g

Diet consisted of a lot of meats with high fats, dairy, yogurt, whole grains, butter, olive oil, coconut oil, peanut butter, oats, sweet potatoes and a little white potatoes, bananas, sourdough bread, beans, and some dark chocolate Daily :D

Utilized intermittent fasting 3-4 days a week and one cheat meal per week (staying within cals)

Training was strength based up until the beginning of August when it changed to more bodybuilding due to knee pain/injury. Been going light the last few weeks since I found out about hernia surgery. No real cardio performed, but workouts are very intense and fast paced.

Overall very happy with results and excited to see how I can tweak everything again after I recover. One concern of mine is that visceral fat level rise, as I know... or I've heard GH can raise this. The guy doing the testing didn't seem concerned with it as it's still very low but I'd love to hear your guys' thoughts.

Growth hormone actually has a high affinity for adipocytes in visceral stores and has been shown to consistently decrease visceral fat tissue volume in most trials where it was measured.

Was hoping you would answer... the guy giving the test said it was within the margin of error and technically a minor change. He thought it was a slight error due 8 pounds of the fat being lost in just the trunk area, so wasn't concerned.

I'm less concerned after your statement then. Thanks!

Soo why the 40-30-30 macros? More fat then protein or carbs?
Surprising it's actually closer to 50% fat, 30% carbs, 20% protein. I did this cause it was easy on my body and after reading a lot about various macro breakdowns and how they work in the body basically... e.g. How much protein is actually needed to keep from muscle wasting and how much to grow, I changed up my diet.

I found specifically with me that neoglucogenesis seemed to occur at a lower protein intake than what I'm reading with other people training online. So in effect, I'm wasting that extra protein and it's readily being stored as fat. Again, these are just my observations of myself in the past

I just had some blood drawn for metabolic stuff for pre-op appointment, and I just ordered an NMR-lipoprofile blood test to draw as soon as I have time in the next few days. So it will be interesting to see how this diet has and is effecting some of the most important health markers.

As for higher fat content, fats are amazing good for you IMO and I'm doin a little self experimenting with them

Interesting - it just shows there is no one size fits all/cookie cutter diet. Yes it's good to try to follow general best practice guidelines but we are all individuals with different dietary needs based on our metabolism, general health, age, training style, goals, and other factors.
Good luck 'experimenting'...

Be interesting to see you on a keto diet with the direction you're going in...

Notice how I think it would be interesting for YOU to do it instead of me. :)

Hahaha, I hate eating no carbs (virtually). This diet was super super comfortable. Like the hardest thing is the IF, but other than that, I felt like I wasn't too hungry and got the foods that I needed and wanted most of the time

Results speak for themselves... There was a university with dexa near me but they stopped the program unfortunately. The calibration those machines need made it a cost issue.

Pre-op bloodwork taken last Thursday 9/7 on same GH dosage above (4iu per day split twice a day) and same TRT of 125mg of test e per week with 100mg of Deca per week.

Doc says bloods are fine even with the couple things outside parameters due to TRT. This seems about where my bloodwork comes in on TRT, sometimes a little better, sometimes a little worse.

Awaiting results of NMR-lipoprofile pulled yesterday and I'll post up here

This was unfasted... reason for glucose levels where they are. Unsure how it effects the rest of those numbers. Doc said no need to fast as it doesn't matter for the tests that he was trying to gauge

Thanks for posting. Is your Doc also 'on side' with your GH & Deca use? I'm on Doc prescribed Trt myself but have kept my occasional use of other compounds to myself. I don't want to risk losing Trt & the regular bloods & monitoring that goes with it.

This is not my PCP and I self prescribe... I told this doc about TRT, Deca and GH since I have been using it recently and I'm going under. Didn't want anesthesia complications

My primary knows about my TRT and that's it

Hey @Marcus, seriously, thank you for the in depth info, and for tracking, and logging all of this. Our stats are pretty close, and we're running pretty close to the same shit.. I'm running 4iu blacks ED, and cruising on 200mg of test EW, right now. We both ended our last cycle be started the GH at pretty close to the same time.. it's good for me to have something to compare to..

Hope that hernia is healing up well. Thanks again bro!

Absolutely man! Keep on tracking and post here over the next year and we can keep comparing and contrasting... hopefully I'll be able to jump back on a cycle around end of October/beginning of November to build back up

For sure bro! You're a lot more in depth with the DXA scans, and bloods you're getting done.. with the exception of work and the gym, I'm pretty lazy and procrastinating.. I'm having my trainer do caliper testing every month or so, to track my BF, and logging weight.. sitting at 244 and 15.5%BF, with a way less accurate test than you, ATM.. Just started a cut, where I'm doing a lot more conditioning, and less picking up heavy shit.. also trying to baby some banged up joints.. going to do a little 8 week Test blast and NPP starting in November..

Perfect man! Whatever method you use is great man. More info is better than less, always
