For that WTF Maybee the grunting is a little annoying but they pay dues to but dropping weights serious there are some nice power racks for sale could buy a half way decent home gym for a years worth of dues. But you gotta have the room

I have a gym at my warehouse too.
Literally just an Olympic Bar and plates.
I welded a rack out of industrial shelving so when I'm working late, I can squeeze out squats and deads.

My knees are also fucked, so I have the bar up 2 inches from the floor.. the ground is a really bad sticking point and hurts like hell.

I'll post a picture Monday when I'm in...Its fucking ghetto.
But nothing's stopping me from lifting, zero excuses.

Trainers who count their client's reps out loud while I'm silently trying to count mine.

Or the personal trainer that stands there with his finger shoved up his nose all the way to the first knuckle thinking no one will see him while his client is facing the other way doing reps. Then the client finished his chest press sits up the trainer got caught with his finger in the cookie jar and the client just sat there speechless. That wasn't awkward at all.

Ghetto is all good in my book in in the debate of going the home route just so I can lift when I want but I'm locked in at 24 so it's a tough decision. But that alarms shit what's the point. Oh don't intimidate the people who can't lift heavy. We have a girl at the gym who sounds like she's having a orgasm when she lifts. I just grab weights and walk away from that one but I've never heard a dude bitch about it

I love their motto “no judgement” but they judge the lifters, WTF?

Yeah, I'm not talking about 50lb difference. Theres limitations though, some people think that anybody who trains MMA has some magical skills. A 155lb dude couldnt even put Brian Shaws arm behind his back. Some people train and train and train and still cant fight. You either have it in you or you dont. I'm not talking about pros obviously, they can.

Honestly, a 155lb guy that knows how to properly apply one of dozens of blood chokes, and had half a brain, drops a guy Shaw's size.

Realistically he's much much more agile. I've watched the small guys literally goose step around bigger guys to take their back. Regardless of how strong you are, it takes all of four seconds to put you to sleep.

Last thing he's going to do is worry about is trying to control an arm.

I strongly advise it.

when you've been going hard for 16 hours at work...
Its 630pm...
You know the gym is fucking rammed and your already fed up.

I only spent 300 bucks on my set (Olympic bar +350lbs in weight)
About 3 hours welding and fabrication.

Now I can lift and smash away with zero issues.
I probably spend almost as much time at that little ghetto lifting station... as I do at a real gym.

At least you have Olympic bars. Frickin PF has no bars. Man I hate them!!! Yet I would franchise one so I could make fat bank off the clowns who have memberships that never go except first Monday and second Tuesday.

I don't like PF - only good if you want cardio only ... I tried training there for few months ( when I did start training again ) ... I switched to GoodLife rather pay more ...

6'8 400+ lbs. He would peel that 155lbers arm off his own throat. You're kidding, right? No fucking way. The 155lb guy could barely reach around that behemoth. Seriously, you are over hyping fighting skills. There are limitations. Its be like me fighting a 10yr old strengthwise. If Shaw laid on top of him he'd be done.

Weight classes exist for a reason.

Back when I was still into fighting.. at 190ish lbs (cut down to 170s)
I remember going up against a true heavy weight in the ring... (buddy went pro a year later)
It was like I was kicking a fucking brick wall.

Wheras his punches would rock my midsection even through a gaurd.

Rolling?
Like hell, he wasnt even very good on the ground.. but could just power his way through anything I threw at him.

May as well have tried to fight a grizzly bear.

460vs155?

That's like me vs a 9 year old... I dgaf how skilled a 9yr old can get.

I'm not actually, I've watched a 155lb'er drop a 340lb'er. It's not even a matter of skill but mobility.

I've watched countless bodybuilders, powerlifters, and strongmen trounced. The strongmen can be explosive and move quickly for their size. But...nah.

The as soon as I get ahold of you logic is fundamentally flawed. It requires A to actually get ahold of B, while B is doing circles around A.

Strong as they are, they also have to keep hold of them. I've watched dudes with 100lbs on their partner start on a dominant position and lose it in seconds.

I'm not even going to mention stick and move strikes. Particularly those targeting the leg / knee that allow you to keep your range.

I'm not talking about a 340lb pig farmer, I'm talking about one of the strongest men in the world. Not a local bber who weighs 230lbs either. A 155lber giving him body and leg shots? Pffft. You really think that'll have much effect?. It wont. They couldnt hurt him, seriously. I actually used to fight in tournaments(boxing).and win as a kid. I love fighting sports. I understand that wrestling/jiu jitsu(sp) are a whole different animal. The striking part though I know a lot about. 155lber isnt hurting Brian Shaw with his hands. To actually latch onto him would be instant mauling, seriously.

You understand that a solid snap kick is about the same as being hit with a baseball bat, right? My buddy got laid out for months waiting for both of his shin bones to knit back together after checking a hard shot just last year.

I've had ribs and hands broken myself. Much smaller guys and we were just sparring.

Hence the stick and move. Because why would I get close and throw punches? That'd be piss poor planning on my part. I'm keeping my range and attacking the weakest link. The knees.

With a strike that I can put a LOT more force behind. That, yes, is eventually going to do what it's meant to do.

A square knee between the quads / hams will drop you if you're not conditioned to take the hit as well. More muscle there just means more immediate pain.

And again, one of the strongest guys in the world.

Sure.

But whatch him do a sled push and completely blow up. It takes a lot of oxygen to move that body, This isn't a 30 second carry or stacking event.

The fact is, I slip behind you, because I'm literally that much faster, I don't NEED to be strong to pinch off a couple arteries. You're feeling it before I even apply the pressure that's going to send you to Napsville.

A strongman isn't a boxer, doesn't move like a boxer, doesn't hit hike a boxer.

He's just a big, slow, inflexible guy swinging wild.

Im.talking about 155lb guy. Not you. Who knows, agility wouldnt be his strong suit obviously. God, but his knee joints are double the size of ANYBODY that guy has fought before, seriously. I dont want to argue with you because I respect your opinion. Speedwise he"d have no chance but even if you kick his legs til he drops you still have nothing for him strengthwise on the ground. Like I said, I boxed, ground game is out of my wheelhouse. Who knows?

You know what really erks me. When two bros stand around arguing about who would win a fight Mighty Mouse or Superman. I mean really.
There’s always a punchers chance. And who ever shows up that day has the best odds.
Now both of you, go pick up something heavy. And don’t forget to put it away after.
