I thought there was no mechanism in the body to create fat from protein? I haven't read about that shit in years but I thought I remembered any fat gained was fat present in the source of protein and that a pure protein could not convert to fat. Maybe I'm just old and can't remember properly.
Your body metabolizes everything through biochemical pathways. Now not to destroy everyone's minds and speak out of my ass because all this is somewhere in my latent memory... Your body biochemically DOES NOT favor making protein into fat... That's the whole Ketone diet concept people like for losing weight... Not that I agree with the ketone diet for anyone that isn't on gear (My opinion). Having a surplus of protein will cause the protein metabolism pathway to utilize that excess into the carbohydrate storage. Now you got to consider these pathways use ATP, and you producing ATP as well. By common knowledge we know protein isn't as easy to break down, well you don't get too much from it as a source of energy. Now let's say you aren't on a ketone diet, but bulking and eating excessive amounts of calories that your body can no longer store these carbs into the body when metabolized. So the body goes into the un-favored pathway to metabolize the carbs and store it as fat. Is it a lot of fat? I'm sure it adds up, especially with the excess carbs you are eating as well turning into fat as well. Now if you are on gear you can synthesize protein a lot better. So the limitation of protein synthesis on gear is not something I am educated on..Not really interested in understanding it either at any rate. I'm not a bodybuilder to want to eat a horse's worth of meals multiple times a day and worry about gaining instantaneous weight that my body is gonna want to get rid of after dosing down.
