I have to do 30 days in the county jail - How do I avoid losing gains?

After that there are a ton of military type of workouts using body weight that can help shape your body. If done correctly this can help enhance your physique not harm it

Not sure if you ever heard of a military exercise called "8 count body builder". It works the chest, core, legs, and back all at the same time. If you pyramid it upwards you'll definitely see improvement in minimal time.
 
Maintaining what you have shouldn't be very difficult. NOT gaining a bunch of unwanted weight just may be because they pump you full of starchy garbage food. Every time I did time in county, I gained crazy weight no matter how much exercise I got. Add in commissary food and you've got quite the caloric surplus with very little activity.
Wrap a towel around your bunk frame and around 1 hand and pull your body weight towards the frame for bi's. There's usually a metal seat by the desk you can do single leg squats off of. Step up, step down, repeat. Push ups and crunches are your best friends. Do tri,s by pushing off of the desk or railing

@schmib good luck, Man....stay positive, eat as well as you can... Exercise when you can. Bodyweight stuff, towel stuff, lift the bed if you can... One armed deadlifts with the bed/mattress and the like.
It's only a month - you'll come back strong right after.
 
Hey op if your good at spades and get a good partner you wont have to spend thst much money on commissary...like everyone else said rons of push ups skull crushers and dips do pull up off the stairs. Good luck brother a month will fly by.

I mean seriously, all i did was give him a couple ideas for exercises he could do while he is in county, there was nothing harmful in the least in what i said to him. When he asked about diet i very fairly said that i dont really know a whole lot about that aspect and that he should wait for someone that knows more, i dont know if you just woke up looking for an internet fight today or if your reading comprehension is off, but in no way did i give him harmful advice.

Im not even going to argue anymore about the genetics thing, that is over and done.

How about a modest, 3-week dose of test decanoate the day before you go to jail, along with a hefty dose of AI (you might crash your E2 for a week or so, but the long ester will bring it back)... idk, just thinking out loud here.

EDIT: or some other long ester, like equipoise, to maintain anabolism for an extended time. Might not last the whole month, but would probably get you the majority of the way thru.
 
I'm trying to avoid cycling right now, I have a mild case of gyno on my left nip I'm treating with Raloxifene for the foreseeable future
 
If you're off cycle anyway that's even better. I like the deload the first week idea someone mentioned. Hit the gym hard until you go, deload the first week while you get yourself situated and get your commissary, then do what you can and eat what you can the last three weeks. Get out and get right back to it. Losses should be minimal and might take a couple weeks if that to recover if you go about this intelligently.

Once you get there, your people(woods, homies, blacks, whomever) will give you the get down. If you're young you'll most likely have mandatory workouts as someone said.
If you're jacked up you'll have everyone hitting you up about working out and about gear etc. It won't stop.
Burpees are cool. Dips between bunks. You'll do some different shit. Its good to change things up. Shock your system.
Out here in Cali, county jails are filled with jay cats. Youngsters that look as if they've never done a pushup.
Best advice is took keep to yourself the best you can and move on if you don't know people. Don't complain about the 30 days. Motherfuckers looking at real time don't wanna hear that shit.
It can be a homecoming of sorts if you've been around. I've had some fun in county. Crazy shit. Gotta mark the best of where you're at. Good luck, partner.
 
Never been in jail/prison but I was just laid up for 4wks due to surgery. My strength was back to where it was before after 2 workouts. I did lose 5lbs. I don't think a month will hurt you if you do the best you can with the resources available. Good luck to you and stay safe!

Thanks man. I've got to do all 30 days, I was sentenced to 60 and you serve half time in my county.

And yeah I'm in southern CA, I did 12 days before in county when this whole thing originally went down and it wasn't too bad at all. Just surreal, and incredibly boring. But with a steady supply of books I think it'll fly by.
 
Two things to Google, the Juarez Valley workout, a killer body weight workout and Charles Bronsen, who broke every damn fitness record while serving time.
And treat the thirty like a cut, you may come out lighter but definitely leaner.
 
Due to an unfortunate misunderstanding I'll have to do 30 days in the county jail about a month from now. I've gained so much muscle mass over the past year and I'm a tad worried about losing it in these four weeks. They feed you a decent amount, about 2500 calories, but there is very little in the way of protein. I can get a BIT of extra food through the commissary, but mostly carbs/junk food. No way I'll be able to get the 200 grams of protein my body is used to. 100-120g is a more realistic estimate.

I also won't be able to lift (it's the county jail, not prison. There is no weight room) but of course I can do bodyweight exercises. No access to a pull-up bar though. Thinking of eating way over my maintenance for a few weeks beforehand to help prevent muscle loss during the sentence.

Tips anyone? Anyone gone through something similar? Just trying to brainstorm here. Any ideas/info appreciated.

And please don't rail me for being an idiot for breaking the law in the first place. I was drunk and did something stupid, the incident is very far from defining me or how I live my life.

the perfect situation where "extreme" calisthenics would come in handy. one arm push-ups and pistol squats. handstand push-ups and superman push-ups. lots of leg lifts and bodyweight squats for "cardio".
I cant say ive spent a lot of time in jail. but a little over 14 months was enough for me. not counting a few overnight accommodations. mine where due to being drunk and doing something stupid, so don't feel bad.

and just fyi, a gallon of water is 128 fluid oz. it weighs a little over 8 lbs. water bags work well until they shakedown the block and then pop them on top of your bunk.
and if you can get commissary, buy tuna and peanuts.
