Jay Max Log (Switching from BB to PL and a place to BS)

Had an interesting night in the gym. About 5pm the power goes out. It just started getting dark. Half the people left. Half (including me) stayed and worked out by cell phone flashlight and the street lights from outside.

Well guys, things did not turn out well.

The competition was at 1000. I stayed up until 0530 with crazy insomnia. Slept until 1130. :(

Got up and said fuck it. No food. No anything, rushed to the gym. They were past all my events but since no one had shown up really they said I could do it still (I was only doing squat and bench). Remember you only get 1 attempt. Squat went for 410, judge said I didnt go low enough. Ok.

Since they had already done bench I knew the leader had only done 350. All I had to do.was 355. Easy. So they let me do a super quick warm up since I was late. Made the mistake of doing a warmup at 335 which was too close. Went to 355 and fucking failed. It went 97% up but then I couldnt lock out. Fuck me.

But you live and learn.

Thats it. Im done completely with this log. Im done with TM. Starting next week im moving on to westside barbell. Im going to do a new log. Just dont know if Im going to start now or after new year.

Experience is nothing but a mountain of failures as they say. I say get back on the juice and start right away. Piggy back off your gained strength and keep moving forward.

I was thinking the same thing. Im away from home (well my home away from home) and I didnt have anything with me but my cruise dose. I wouldve killed for a few MGs of halo.

But I have been thinking about changing my "cruise" protocol...

Lmao. Youre like the exact opposite of that good voice in my ear. That being said I did already decide to. But instead of upping the test dose im going to keep it the same and add some deca...at least thats the plan.

The night before my first meet I was lying awake in my motel room until after 2am, too. I missed my third bench attempt.

Thanks. Sad thing was this was small time. Im betting when I get to my first REAL competition im gonna be nervous as hell.
 
Yes, but you'll have a good cycle under your belt and your PR's will all be higher.

As mad as I was about the bench attempt it made me want to work that much harder. After I stayed in the gym and finished out the last day of my current program strong.
I see I have to go a lot harder. These were all just gym folks. If Im going to compete against people who have been doing this for years I gotta work my ass off...and I will :)
 
In my early days I used to get an unbelievable high from maxing out and hitting new levels. I would max out every week . I don't really enjoy that as much as I used to. But still fun when you smash a pr. Mine just tend to be in the multiple rep range. Mostly for safety. I got a family to support.
