Lifting straps : Yeah or Gay?

When i say weak link im talking about deadlift. Back training is g2g. Just like pulling on that bar. Obviously cant pull big numbers but still looking to test this arm next blast. Dont want to look like that old hanz and franz skit on saturday night live. :D
Where they pull their arms off on the deadlift? Hahaha

I try to only use them on the final set of a pulling exercise. I'll use grip strength until I get to the heaviest load. A lot of ppl with big forearms don't rely on any direct forearm work at all and have giant forearms from training this way. Me? My forearms are decent but I'd trade them with Frank McGrath if I could, lol.

I'd recommend chalk for someone who has never used it. Chalk really made me realize I can lift more than I thought without straps, unfortunately most commercial gyms don't like it.

I used straps, for my heavier weight when I was pushing for 500lbs but I did find that it took me longer to set up for the pull. And had a hard time pulling more that 500.I got some chuck and tried it after my grip got stronger I jumped from low 500 to 655lbs.

I’ve never had straps.
I’ve used my friends though and they are nice, i’d Like to get a pair I’ve just been to lazy.

I use straps when needed. Anything that will have me paying attention to my grip rather than the muscle that needs to do the work. Anyone that thinks they don't "need" straps hasn't done rack pulls or shrugs above 500# to failure then immediately over to a heavy isolation movement for back or similar.

Unless your'e doing dedicated grip work then you're costing yourself progress by not using them.

I don't give two shits about absolute grip strength. If you lift heavy at all your grip will be fine (enough to crush the average man's hand when shaking :)) and as far as forearm development goes I've never worked forearms directly and I've always had forearms that match my upper arm development.

I have these in camo. Their everything i need and more. My gym bud bought em as a gift. His pair hes had 12 yrs so it seems pretty solid. Ive had mine a year or more and still seem new. Very comfortable has a lil padding for the wrists so the damn grips dont rip off all my damn wrist arm hair lol. I use em for anything back related and are highly versatile. Machines, dumbbells, cable stations. Fuck it. They work on everything. That way i can focus on peeling my lats back.

Only other kind id potentially be interested are the figure 8 straps. Those are pretty limited IMO because their made for deadlifts. Cant imagine using them on machines or for rows, dumbbells etc

Thanks TRUKK.

Elite fts makes great straps for Multi use. Barbend makes figure 8s that are second to none for deadlifting imo.

Bro, Tix that shit. What's wrong with you?! Haha
LMFAO. I went to a really good specialist. He advised me to not repair it. Mind you i didnt go to the doctor right away. I had to take another job to pay for my doctor visit.

I have a similar one, by Cobra Grips, it's leather, otherwise the same. Quite pleased with it.
