LIPIDS- HDL/LDL

Note well Dear Reader:

You were using 10 mg ed or 10mg / week?

He said ed in his thread.

If ed then those numbers he posted are nothing of serious note. My numbers get literally halved by 5mg x 2 week.

Yeah, you have almost similar results with 10mg per week while he's on 70mg per week. Have you tried ezetimibe before went on statin?

Like many other things, there's a variation in individual response. Here's an excellent paper on the dose/response curve:

Click on the PDF on the top right to read. Unfortunately, it's a fairly small trial.

Here's a meta-analysis on the frequency of side effects with various statins:

It can be skipped as it doesn't reveal much. There's very little offered in the way of data on the dose response curve on adverse effects, asserting there is none. It also downplays the prevalence of type 2 diabetes, which I know is false. It saddens me that after over a couple decades of use, this is the best data we have on side effects.

Try krill oil instead of fish oil. I also like EITHER citrus bergamot OR red yeast rice (only one or the other), NAC and TUDCA for liver, turmeric for all around inflammation, and yes I would add olive oil into your daily meals. lots of cardio as well
Can I ask why its recommended to take one or the other, and not both (Citrus B & Red yeast rice)?

Red yeast rice sold in the us does not contain the active ingredient anymore, basically worthless

Red yeast rice products that have considerable amounts of monacolin K may effectively lower blood cholesterol levels, blood glucose levels, and blood pressure. But, because of the levels of monacolin K, these products are considered by the FDA to be unapproved new drugs and are not sold legally in the United States.

Other red yeast rice products may contain very little monacolin K, and it’s unknown if these products are effective in reducing cholesterol levels or improving other areas of health. Some products have levels of monacolin K that are below the level known to lower cholesterol in clinical trials.
