I live in a state that legal for recreation and medical. I have medical card. Just wanted to comment that once you consume shatter or dab, you don't want to go back to buds because the concentration is so much higher. Similar comparison to 80 proof liquor vs beer.

So I met this couple from Portland Oregon this wknd up here. They came up for the Bc bud they said. To which I confusingly reply but it's legal now down there. Guy tells me they pay $80 us for an 8th of weed!!!!! WTF!!!!! Thought he was pulling my chain. So as most 420 friendly Canadians I sent him to a hassle free dispensarie. The kicker he didn't believe me cuz this place sells Oz's for $100 Cdn lol So I guess the moral of the story is ....when the gov't takes control of sonething they FUCK YOU DRY!!!!!! 
I smoked for the first time in 1 year and a half. The weed was gorilla glue. I was told it has a 4.7 out of 5 on this new rating scale that medical dispenseres are using I forgot what it is called. I was at work and took 3 monster bowl hits LOL. Never been so high in my life. Felt like I was floating and moving .0000001 miles per hour. But time went by in seconds. I have no idea how good I did with my work though. Straightening the aisles at a grocery store. It could be immaculate or complete garbage. I used to smoke grams a day of dank weed for 5 years like many of you have too. Now I am going to have to take another 6 months off I am getting pee tested.
