Marijuana [Cannabis]

I am buying these lights tonight.

I was wondering what kind of soil to use to grow.
I should get nutrient free soil right?

Im using Fox Farms dirt (15$/bag), its complete with bat guano and worm casings . Some people dont even add a nute to this even in bud . Thats why you can burn them adding too much fertilizer to Fox Farms (or Happy Frog). ;)
note: People that have bad things to say about Fox or Frog probably over-nuted a perfect mix soil . This =salt build-up...Dont overfeed !!

In bud : I add Medi-One (fish nute)every 3rd watering ,they get fed one tbs per gallon water . If leaves curl up or yellow tips then stop the next feeding just water . Flush lightly every 6-7 waterings .

So the soil has nutrients pre-mxed. Or you mix your own in. The person I am growing with, has some pre mixed, coco-coir, bat guana, and other organics stuff. That ok?

DO you check the PH of the soil, or the PH of the water you are using to water the plant. Or is that only for hydroponic.

With soil you usually dont mess with the Ph much. I check the water run-off though and its usually around 6.0-6.2 here . About perfect . We have low ph (acidic) well water which cannabis loves .

With hydroponics you need Ph-up and Ph-down on hand all the time . Checking your ph everyday in the main reservoir . I do both , although Ive havent been doing hydro this year . Maybe later this summer with the new coco soil thats popular....

Won't be long now ...next week for these Kushberries...photo (17).JPG
This plant I pinched the tops twice . Once then 3 weeks later pinched all the tops again . Bush . Growing in a 10gal window planter...

There is only one play in there right? Could you plant two plants in that one bucket if you wanted?

Also why are the leaves yellow like that. Are you "flushing" the plant.

Also that would mean a couple weeks then you would dry the plants correct?

Plants are looking nice. homie. Good stuff. Ordering some stuff tonight. Germinating this weekend too.

How do you pinch the tops. You don't cut then with a scissor right? I here different methods. What is your method.

The leaves die the last few weeks as all nutrition is directed to the buds , You "ll see next week . No leaves just bud .

If you want big trees/big buds , then you dont pinch the tops and you put them in large (5 gal or bigger) containers . Inside grow : 24 hrs or 18/6 . Ive tried both I think they veg faster with 24 hrs light/day .

If you want a bush like above then veg for 8 weeks after clone/seed then pinch the tops or cut with razor the very top . The shoots below will now grow out . In 3 weeks you will cut the tops of them too . Now let it veg another couple weeks . Then off to the bud room at 12/12 light . 8 weeks of 12/12 budding . The plant above is at 7 weeks . Thats 2 plants 1 ft apart (twins)

No . Fan leaves the big yellow ones have low THC . You"ll cut everything back but the small sugar leaves . Thats all you use ...
Great thanks. I have a 10 gal. I though only one pant can be in there. You helping a lot. especially because I am starting. I am looking for bushy. I don't have a tall area. I might also tie the plant down to the side. Have you ever done that? I might actaullly do both at the same time lol.

Water your plants . Use the Ph tester to test the run-off water in the catch trays .
You dont have to test the soil .

I heard that you actually want to water the plants from the bottom of the plant, instead of on top of the soil. So the roots grow down more(reaching for the water). I didn't think this was right. The person I am with is convinced this is a better method. You ever hear of this method?

Ive grew them anyway you can imagine . This plant I have to use stakes or they would just fall to the ground the buds are so heavy . You can shape a cannabis plant anyway you want . Very adaptable plants...

I had a place once with false walls just 4 ft wide and 24 ft long but 12 ft tall . Totally hidden room . I had 2 Hydrofarm plant tracks on the ceiling going opposed to each other with 2-1000w HPS .
That was a killer grow . Now Im just kicked back with one 1000w HPS . But Im gonna add LED's too...

So this plant was growing for 16 weeks or just 8 weeks.

Can I make it bud quicker if I wanted?

This bush is 16 weeks old next week . But alot of times I just veg 4 , bud 8 for a total of 12 weeks.
8 weeks is going to be mandatory for budding most breeds . How long you veg them before 12/12ing the lights on them is up to you . Some people grow them 6 months then cut the lights back . I like a fast turnover so I have less than a dozen budding at any given time . I also have a Oregon OMMP card ;)

Nice thats awesome. Because I wanted to get buds quick. Then start grow that yields more.

How many plants can a 300w led grow, in veg and flower?

Is two 150 w better?
