You're close. Plenty of milk there. But don't get too excited. Let them go longer than advertised. The tendency is always to cut early. This is understandable when it's a paycheck. But if it's not (and when it is), strive to be better.

I admit, I usually like later bud. Some disagree with me. But the prices I used to get, and the feedback, tells me that plenty of people are on board with me. Most of my plants used to flower at least two weeks later than advertised, even for elite clones.

I'm all about a genuine 50% amber, plus a hard flush, and failing plant functions. I like them ripe. The potency and high type just shifts so radically those last couple of weeks, IME. I don't like "functional" bud. I expect to get lost in my kitchen cabinet for two hours. . .

Agreed, when i was a noob, i went for fresher buds just because i believed it would last me longer.i then realized longer cured buds that are drier is where its at.

Thank you for continual advice. Much appreciated. I'll let them mature more.

Just got done lifting and went to hardware store. Got 6' bamboo sticks. I'll post some pics of newly erected branches once done.

@HuckingFuge thank for advice. I would have let them suffer without your advice.

Support sticks are great for a what do I do now moment when they get heavy buds. But next time look into trellising. just look up trellis nets and you can open the plant up and give it full support. Also opens it up for maximum light. Your branches will grow stronger and you can usually end up with larger buds since the branch isn't strained (in theory).

Yeah this first attempt was trial and error with no planning.... Basically adapting as conditions changes.

Next time I'd like to try SOG (sea of green) which is similar to your idea.

I was think about harvests in stages... Outter buds first and remove those branches. Theory is that it'll allow light to mature the inner buds that aren't exposed to direct light. Inner and lower buds are still all white haired.

doesn't work that way. the whole plant is dying all at the same time. you get what you get.

I would wait until the bud is 50/50 white and amber if it was me.

Darn....thank (again).....

Ive been looking at trichomes in different stages to have better idea what to look for. It's hard to tell if it's milky, white or clear. I think it's very close to 50/50. Tentative plans is to harvest this upcoming weekend.

I bought bunch of stainless steel clothes hanger, probably overkill as the cheap ones or plastic would work fine. Bunch of plastic cloth pins. Plan is to use little tent for drying so that it will still be filtered/ventilated. Otherwise my home will smell like a skunk zoo.

Gonna use bamboo sticks to make cross sections on top of tent to hand clothes hanger and attach clothes pin...and hang 'em by branches.

I got 2 big Pyrex Baking trays with lids for the curing process.

Lights turns on at 6am and I read that it's best to harvest prior to first light otherwise plant will produce starch that will negatively affect the taste. So, me gonna wake up at 2-3 am as I want to take my time and not rush and make stupid mistakes.

Should I keep all branches including the stock to make edibles? Or is there no thc within?

No stems. Leaves are fine make you some oil, or edibles, or hash, or dab. And when you trim use a screen take you keef and the oil you make and make some moon rocks. You take a torch to a moon rock it's like a dab on steroids. <----- I just really wanted to use that reference on meso.

Edit:
Since your just kind of doing it I'm assuming your gonna do a dry trim. It's the best way to go when starting out so you can learn the difference between wet vs dry trimming. Also adds that super dank odor that people appreciate.

make sure you get 2 weeks flush in before you harvest. I just used rope and used the branches to hang from the rope. you might also consider putting plastic down underneath your hangings to catch all the tricomes that will be dropping from handling the buds.

I love using these ATP Large Oil Drip Pan - Walmart.com

Well worth the money for a grower or buy to the size. I use them for lots of things over the years.
