Isn't that where the Kill Bill sound effects came from? I've seen it a long time ago.

Thats exactly what I said after it haha

Any of you you guys see the movies "The Five Deadly Venoms" or "Super Ninjas" martial arts movies from the seventies. Both movies are awesome

Seems like the part where they zoom in on the opponent's face and play the siren type sound came from that. It's been awhile since I've seen either though.

Funny you mention this actually, I was just reminded of Kill Bill and some of the effects they borrowed from older movies

I saw the movie Sanjuro recently and I think I saw mentioned somewhere that this scene below is where the 'high-blood pressure' special effect that they also used in Kill Bill was first used in a movie:

It was used in a lot of other movies too, but I think this was the first example.

I haven't heard of that one, looks very old. They pulled all that stuff off well in Kill Bill. It was cheesy and they made it work.

Watched Hateful Eight tonight. While it was a bit long, it still held my attention pretty much the whole ride. But, as big of a Tarantino fan as I am, Im getting a bit tired of the over-the-top, ultraviolence he has been relying on. I thought this one might be getting back to his quick witted, dialogue driven good ol days, but nope out came the head exploding gun shots.
I get it, the dude loves 70s B-movie style action, and it was okay for a few films, but the man is hanging his film legacy on it at this point.
He needs to reteam with Roger Avary and recapture the magic of Pulp Fiction, R Dogs and True Romance.

Ill give it a 7.5 but at this point Im obviously not seeing his films opening night anymore.

Concussion was a great movie. Will Smith killed it as always.

Haven't decided if I wanna take my girl to see batman vs superman or 10 Cloverfield ln this Sunday

They already announced they are releasing the r-rated BvS directors cut on blu-ray. I really dont know why anybody but the most zealous comic movie fan would pay theater prices to see the studio cut.
