Meso Movie Reviews

I just recently watched civil war on Netflix.
I did not care for it surprisingly.

Loved the new starwars though.

I knew they'd change a lot. The first book is kinda slow, so I figured they'd try to spice it up somehow. Anything in particular they changed?

Hopefully this doesnt spoil it for anyone: dont read if you havent read books!!!

They put the horn of eld in right away so it makes more sense at the end. Then appearantly Jake dies a little earlier and they focus more on them.

They also said they had to take out a lot of the stuff that connects to other books so the movie can stand on its own.

From what Ive read it turned out much better than people thought. Cant wait to see it (official trailer is supposed to come out any day)

*spoiler alert

You know I didn't like the ending the first time I read through them. The second and third time I really started to appreciate it because it keeps going on and it kinda leaves you to wonder rather than a definite ending that might or might not suck. With a series on that scale i don't even know what I would expect for an ending honestly. I have always wondered what happened on the next go round when he brought the Horn of Eld with him. I hope they don't disappoint with it. I mean the top of the Dark Tower is like the secrets of the universe or the meaning of life or something. It's going to be tough to pull off.

I'm really fond of the connections to the other books. I don't know how I feel about that. I guess they'll have to omit Father Callahan and the dude from Hearts in Atlantis. That's going to leave some holes in the story.

My girlfriend is a fan of the guy that plays Roland. I'm not familiar with him, but she loves him in some show he's on. Like enough that she wants to see the movie now. She's started the first book and hasn't gotten very far because it's slow. I'm trying to get her through it to the second book when it really picks up.

Im a huge Idris Elba fan, so I think he'll do a real good job. But I'm sure there will be many complaints from fans about the choice since everyone equates Roland to Clint Eastwood (Ron Howard did say Clint wouldve been the choice if he wasnt 100 years old).

Im keeping an open mind though. I dont want to be a stereotypical nerd that whines its not true.

Truthfully part of me is hoping they do make some changes to the end. Im not a fan of Modred taking out the man so easily or when Stephen King showed up as the hero in his own book.

*Also theyre still working the details, but there will be a tv show to bridge the movies. They said theyre just figuring out if itll be cable or hulu / netflix.

Yeah, I always imagined him as Clint Eastwood, but if Idris Elba pulls it off I'm cool with it.

I think it's because the man black came from nothing and lived that long life of evil and he died a stupid, meaningless death like to come full circle or something. I don't know if you read the longer version of The Stand, but there was a whole chapter on people that died stupid deaths.

The worst death in the whole series to me was Oy. That was rough. I took that one pretty hard.

Bonus:

New 50 shades 2 out of 5. Wasn't feeling it.

Really?!?! I'm surprised. I'm going tomorrow with my girl to see it, she loved the first one.

I saw Split and that movie was horrible, and Rings was horrible too. Resident Evil was really good if you saw all of them, its definitely worth seeing in theatres if you enjoyed the others.

We liked the first one much more. 2nd is watchable just a letdown from 1
