Meso Movie Reviews

I don't get out to the theaters very much any more so I finally just saw Straight Outta Compton, it was good. Saw that Miss Peregrine movie, if you don't have kids don't waste your time.

I want to see The Accountant. Anyone seen it?

For TV I've been watching Westworld on HBO, it's great so far. Like Game of Thrones meets Unforgiven. Just wrapped up Ballers too. Need to start watching the new season of Longmire next.

I'll tell you what I binge watched the crap out of this last week: Gold Rush on Discovery. Probably 30 episodes, now I'm all caught up. Love that show.

Just watched the accountant. It has its moments but it isn't real enough for how theyre filming. Just a little too far fetched in a lot of parts. But was definitely pretty cool in some of the bad ass scenes.

Magnificent seven was pretty good. Way more tame than tarantino's hateful 8 but still good. Literally like a modern western.

Masterminds was actually pretty funny for the same dumb comedies from that group of people.

Girl on a train was good for being one of those hard to figure out what happened until the aha moment. The cool part is the main character/narrator witnessed everything but just drinks so much can't remember shit.

Sully was pretty good for knowing the whole story going in. I was really surprised that the acting was good enough to make you a lil emo knowing the outcome.

Pop star looked stupid as shit but ended up being funny because you can tell each celeb he's making fun of every time.

I watch every movie as soon as it's available online, I have a few different sites I stream em from. Between waiting for something new to come out I watch older series n movies all the time. I'm convinced I've seen every movie worth seeing made in the last 20+ years.

Lol It wasn't bad. You saw it was based on a true story?

On Oct. 4, 1997, Loomis Fargo guard David Scott Ghantt found himself alone at the end of his shift. He had keys to the vault and loaded half a ton of bundled cash into an Econoline van. He snatched the tapes from two surveillance cameras, unaware that a third was watching his handiwork.

He drove to a parking lot in Gaston County, where he met accomplices. They stuffed cash into a rented Budget truck, then ditched the Econoline in the woods - with $3 million still inside. They'd taken $17 million from the vault, making it the third-largest bank job in U.S. history.

Ghantt took off for Mexico, and the rest of the gang waited for things to settle down. They didn't wait very long.

David Scott Ghantt walked down Avenida 5 when he left his room at the Hotel Tortuga in Playa del Carmen in the Yucatan peninsula. According to hotel workers, he smoked Marlboros, read comic books and went out daily for walks and a drink of cheap tequila. Michele Chambers, for example, walked into a Mount Holly bank the following week and asked how much cash she could deposit without having to fill out IRS paperwork. She was told she could put in $10,000. She pulled $9,500 out of a briefcase. But the teller filled out the form anyway.

Later that month, Michele and her husband, Steve Chambers, moved out of their Lincolnton mobile home into a $635,000 mansion on Cramer Mountain. They put down $400,000 in cash. They later bought a furniture store, jewelry, a sports car and thousands of dollars in antiques.

Following the binge-spending trail, FBI agents eventually arrested more than 20 people and won convictions.

Not bad. I didn't know much about Duran, so it kept me pretty interested. Worth watching if you like boxing movies.

I saw the new movie Shut In with my girl last night and it was a nice twist. Not really any jump scares, but it was a good plot to follow.

My girlfriend put this on for her son yesterday after Thanksgiving dinner and she fell asleep with my arm under her and he left the room. So I watched this entire movie pretty much alone. It was entertaining for a cartoon.

Yep. I only watch the cartoon movies and Disney movies because my wife and youngest like them. ;)

Same here. Having women and children around changes the way you watch television. If what they're watching is too bad I'll just be hanging around here.

My girlfriend and I were pretty disappointed in The Infiltrator. War Dogs wasn't bad. Never seen the other one.

We watched the accountant last night. It was better then I expected it to be. Affleck did a good job.

Really? But Cranston is such a great actor...
What was so bad about it ?

I agree he's a good actor and it's not that he's bad in it, it's just a boring movie honestly. It has some good parts and John Leguizamo is really good in it, but it's just not an exciting movie. I don't know how to exactly explain besides that it just seems like a dude going to work every day except his work is being an undercover cop. If that even makes sense, lol.

Damn I was assuming a movie about an undercover Op on Pablo Escobar. Would have a shit load of action in it lol Guess not

You would think so and there's really not. We actually got tired and didn't see the last thirty minutes, so maybe there was more at the end. Mostly it's just him wearing wires to meetings and stuff. There's a few intense scenes as far as that goes. Not much action though and maybe that's realistic, I don't know. I want something more like The Departed in a movie like that or like Heat.
