Meso Movie Reviews

Its supposed to be like the end of the books starting again.

Spoiler Alert
Since he didnt have the horn and had to start over at the door, this time he had it. So same story for 6.9 books, just a change to end...supposedly

Saw Guardians 2 last weekend (online). Not as good as first, but pretty damn good.

Yeah, I know. I did always wonder what would happen when he got the Horn of Eld. Seems to me the storyline wound play out the same except when he gets to the tower with the horn.

Im guessing it'll change the ending. Most movies like a happy one so he'll blow the horn and something will happen to make the masses happy. Maybe he goes through a door and gets Susan back or something.

That trailer snippet looked good though. Im excited they got a big budget.

Right, I was thinking he'd finally end the cycle. Didn't really think about a possible happy ending. I figured they'd leave out the whole Susan subplot for the sake of time. That would be a good ending though, sucks how they did poor Susan. But yeah, the high budget factor is going to be awesome.

I'm a little confused by the plot. I guess since it takes place after the books end they can pretty well do whatever with the plot. I'd still like to see a lot of it intact though.

I will probably end up watching it due to Idris. But.... with this movie and IT coming out around the same time, I'm wondering if they will do some type of crossover. I remember the city of Derry being mentioned in dark tower before.

If you still haven't seen Get Out, you should do so at your earliest convenience.
I didn't know what to expect going in to it. Race is a touchy subject and plus people have been hyping it as the best movie ever, which usually ends up disappointing.

But... goddamn. Movie was fucking awesome! I've seen it 3 times now in the past 2 weeks. Gets better each time. There honestly is not a single scene in the entire movie that is just put there to pad the run time. No filler. Every scene means something.
If you're like me, by the time the xlimax of the movie comes about you can't even remember the beginning parts, so watching it a 2nd time shines back on a lot of the random shit you thought was just weird your first watch through.

Just go watch it. Fucking awesome movie.

Yes. Watched it 3 times already. Split was pretty good too. But Get Out is my favorite of 2017 so far

The Dark Tower is connected to a lot of the other books. I can't recall if It is one of them though.

I'm trying to remember where Derry is mentioned. Is that in book five or six?

I would be all for them making a bunch of King Books and intertwining them through the Dark Tower like the MCU.

That would be awesome. The biggest links i can recall are:

Salem's Lot
Hearts in Atlantis
The Stand
Insomnia
Eyes of the Dragon
I think Black House and The Talisman
Maybe Desperation

I always thought Insomnia would've been a cool movie.

Speaking of Desperation, did you ever read the Regulators? I'd love for them to remake Desperation and do Regulators too.

Yes, I've read both. I liked Desperation better out of the two. It was darker and scarier. Regulators was in its own way, but it just being the kid using his imagination wasn't on the level of the villain in Desperation. Although I suppose they're one and the same.

They totally dropped the ball making Desperation into a movie. Would be cool to see it done justice and Regulators, too.

Same here man. I didnt like that edition of Desperation. I just think seeing the same actors play different roles would be good (If you havent seen Split the dude there does a great job of playing different roles in the same movie)

@jaymaximus got it in hardcover, of course. Desperation, too.

I had the chance to watch Split yesterday. Wish I would have.

That's what's so unbelievably intriguing to me about King. If you've read a lot of his books, some of the same characters and places keep popping up like little easter eggs throughout his stories. Like the main character of Salems Lot Father Callahan and how King ties that story into the Dark Tower. He mentions Derry in several books as well

I don't know how to feel. Seems like they're just making one movie, too. That I'm going to see it is no question, but i don't know how I'm going to feel.

I don't like three characters missing. Especially Oy. I loved Oy. The others, too. I got seriously emotionally invested in those fictional characters.

I was just wondering if there was one movie since it was called the Dark Tower. I hope not, theres too much. Im starting to worry about this whole thing. I dont want to be that nerdy dude telling people not to ruin MY book, but I am that dude.
