Multidose Vial Adapter

Is it just me or are the sources for these filtered spikes mainly shipping from Europe?

It's odd, you can find plenty of vial spikes in the US, but not fluid filtered.

Meanwhile, they're common, and often required, in the rest of the world.

I dug into the relevant FDA guidance for manufacturers of vial spikes, and nothing jumped out as a reason they're "not a thing" in the US, while inline filtering of IV bags is common, for all the reasons we discuss.

At some point, hopefully sooner rather than later, the idea of injecting something from an underground lab, or even pharma for that matter, without putting a filter between the liquid and the inside of your body will be as obviously stupid as not using a condom with a street prostitute.
That's why I would always refilter all the UGL oils. Especially the one coming from sources that are famous for selling cheap gear with not much quality control

In a way, visible floaters are a blessing, since it's a reminder to filter. Much of the stuff you don't want to inject can't be seen and looks "clean".

Having a 13mm filter get clogged after just 0.5ml of reconstituted peptide that looks like clear water, when it should handle 10 times as much, is an eye opener.

The way I see it, it's worth the expense to keep everything as "sterile" as possible. Spikes, filters, whatever if it can "prevent" a serious health problem.

Eh, one can go too far. I have a flow hood, but I'm not going to bust it out to draw up a day's worth of injections.

WRT to breakage of the luer lock nubbin on mini spikes. I've broken one of the Braun ones. I twisted a little too hard. I wouldn't call it delicate, but you can't be a gorilla with it.

Appreciating the dialogue on syringes and needle quality. Just got a box of Nipro needles and about to order a box of those BD 27g guys.

As for filtering, it's UGL gear. 'Course I'm going to filter. At the very least, there may be some compound not completely in solution and if that compound is primo it's not going to feel good.

Before MESO I had no idea you could get filters or how to use them. Now like the street prostitute, I know I'm rolling the dice with the decision I make. I kind of miss being ignorant about Injectables. Lol

Some people, me included at one time, get irritated when new info comes along that makes you realize you could've been doing things better. Now I'm happy to find a way to improve going forward, rather than never knowing and stuck doing things in a worse way.

The only reason I use them is because I use 20ml-30ml-50ml vials. Even with silicone stoppers it they get so much violated by the repeated puncturing that a spike is needed.

Whatever the reason to get a filter on there, like stopper coring prevention, you get all the other benefits whether it matters or not to the user. We know there's so much junk even in pharma grade "sterile" vials, glass delamination, and whatever other crap can be stoped by a 5um filter. The less foreign material we're injecting, the better.

You use the unfiltered spikes, right? I think I saw a post for that a while ago.

Allright, so everyone is having fun with my previous post.
Can't I get excited about something Senor made?
You know, the TU thingy bops inside there, etc.
I am trying to imagine him playing little chemist.
For God's sake.
Leave me alone.
Lol

The ratio of ass cheek removals to ass cheek injections is infinitesimally small. You might get arthritis in 10 years? Cuz yeah that's gonna happen to many of us anyway.

I agree refiltering is easy and inexpensive. But people have been not refiltering gear for decades and... *crickets*

Sincerely,
Knuckle Dragger, PhD

I may be stating the obvious, but you coming here with this is not going to change what the people that have been active on this thread are doing.

This is not your thing.

Why are you refiltering gear in the first place, if it is not needed and has not been done for decades?
Why start now?

You do it your way.
Nobody here is forcing you or bothering you about buying filters.
