Multidose Vial Adapter

You’d draw up with it and inject with another.

They are hard to find.
yeah I know you draw with it, but donj't you murder the stopper with 18g but then you have the filter so no big deal.

yeah it's impossible to be found in europe at least after 15 minutes on google couldn't find shit. even in the USA is mostly sold to professional medical practicioner

Found this spike filter, Fresenius Kabi Extra-Spike Plus 5µm. I think the main difference between it and the one by B Braun is the lack of a vent. Apart from that the filter size is the same - any reason not to use it?

That's @Sampei's 80¢ baby. Yes, it's GTG. We are all looking for that one, as it's currently out of stock (allegedly) at Praxisdient. If you find it and it's in stock please let us know, it would be much appreciated.

No buddy it has a vent filter and a particle filter (the blue one). The main difference I think it's sturdiness I already broke 5 of them, when pushing the syring into the luerlock I broke the plastic and it starts sucking in air and it's impossible to draw afterwards.

It's probably me fucking up and being a retard while attaching the syringe.

I never used the Braun spike so I'm not sure if it's an issue that happens with those too.

Bro, I believe @Ghoul already has been using Braun, maybe he'll provide his experience. I have an order on its way from Altruan, happy to share once it gets here.

It can happen on the Braun's too. We're just a bunch of gorillas. Now I just pretend I'm a dainty (but sexy) nurse and gently twist just enough to attach, and not like I'm bolting in a truck engine.

Ok so same shit happening to me, yeah I'm not being able to last 1 week before forgetting and smashing it again for good :(

0.80cents tho I'm ok when I break it. 2.5 each I would be a bit pissed lol

So, these spikes, regardless of manufacturer, are more fragile than the luer lock of needle onto a syring?

You've got a lot more leverage holding the big spike than a needle, so it's easy to apply more force.

There are more parts involved, not just a single solid molded connector like on a needle, so it's not gong to be indestructible like the needle is either.

These have been around for many years. so it's certainly us that's the problem, not the spikes.

That said, I suspect the ones without the cap ("swappable") from Braun might be more sturdy, and there's a BD branded one that's more expensive that might also be more sturdy. Maybe Sempei could order some of those from the place he got his and check them out for us.

yes buddy the problem is the tiny segment luer lock connection, it's plastic and if you lock it too tight it's gonna just break like it split in half and then there is air getting sucked and the seal is not there anymore and bye bye suction.

I'll take a picture next time a broke one, because I know it's gonna happen.

yeah the swabbable one, the blue one with filter and valve are more sturdy 100% at least from looking at it, I'll buy a few, those are expensive as fuck compared to the 80c I have tho.

Perhaps this is sturdier. It's got a better air filter as well.

These may actually be better than the Braun spikes, we'll see. I switched from Easy Touch insulin syring to BD and the difference is substantial... stronger pin and effortlessly pierces skin. The syringes are more expensive though, but these spikes are actually lower cost than Braun.

BD does make everything better than competitors it seems.
