No PR today :( just tried 485 and only got it half way.
Its all good odie. Tomorrows another day bro. Shit im sure half of meso would be crushed by that as soon as we went to lower it. Haha I couldn't even budge that kind of weight let alone unrack it, so always look at the bright side.:) Btw im only being this nice cuz I ain't on tren lmfao:p

I for one had felt the power of 315lbs and it's brutal I tell ya!
 
Saw this today. Ive been compared to this guy for a while now. As of this morning he out benches me by 6 lbs. As of this evening I will out bench him. ;)

We actually bench the same way. He brings his ass off the bench like I do.




you both failed the benching competition. you need to keep your ass on the bench or it doesn't count as Doc has already stated.
 
I think that's so silly. So what my ass comes a few inches off the bench when I put more then 400 lbs on the bar. It's not like I'm cheating. rules are rules I guess but lifting my ass up doesn't make me stronger. Actually if I had better form I would probably lift more
 
bringing your ass off the bench makes it easier to bench. keeping your ass on the bench makes it harder to bench. if you want to play with the big boys you have to do what they do. still a nice lift, but means 0 if it isn't done right.

Bringing your ass off the bench puts you in more of a decline position making the weight move a bit easier. That's why it feels so natural to thrust your hips upward for a little extra push.

Oh and just to be clear, I keep my back 100% flat on the bench. My ass comes off the bench less then 2" on extremely heavy lifts. Yall have seen the video. In no way am I remotely in a decline postion, it's just a defect in my form. No one is taking my PR from me mother fuckers. That is all.
Understandable of course, but in a meet that lift wouldn't count even if your butt came off the bench 2 inches, like what Doc mentioned. I'm positive you'll get that all fixed before your meet.
 
I guess I'll have to wear a seat belt then. Lol. I've done that every since I started benching in 7th grade.



you are taking it personal. we are just stating the fact of the situation. you don't work on your form it will be only your PR, means nothing to the rest of the World. if Dan Green and the other power lifters can keep their ass on the bench, I think you can too.

Im actually leaving Friday morning not tomorrow. Tomorrow is my last day on this cycle though.

I wouldn't camp out here. I'm surrounded by marsh and where's there's TX marsh there's the huge Mosquitoes. They are vicious little bastards.
Bet you'll be ready for those little bastards when out on the lake lol.

I am not taking away from your PR. It's an impressive lift regardless. I'm simply stating that if you are serious about powerlifting and want to compete, doing that (lifting your ass off the bench) will get you red lights and a failed lift. How do I know this? Bc it's in the rulebook and I was red lighted my 3rd bench attempt for doing exactly that.

Lifting your ass off the bench is considered bridging in powerlifting and puts you in a more advantageous position mechanically to lift the weight. If you doubt this try a 95%. Or higher bench press for a single and lift your ass once and next attempt don't lift your ass. Which one is easier?

In my fed, and most others also I believe, your entire back does not have to be touching the bench. Only your ass and your upper back/traps. If any of these two points leave the bench you will not get a good lift. This is a reason why singlets are worn in powerlifting. Wearing a singlet makes it easier to sport "bench butt"
