Odie, find out what your bench number is when you pause and keep your butt on the bench. This will provide the starting point. The weight you put up doing this method will most likely discourage you at first but keep in mind that most, if not all feds require a butt on bench and a pause.

It won't take long to get comfortable with this and your numbers will shoot up again in no time.

Jk jk. I won't be able to see what my LEGAL bench is for a few weeks cause I leave Friday for a week. Maybe I should be one of those guys that you see with thier feet on the bench. Lol
 
^top rate advice right there, find ur rest pause along with the proper setup for u. Setup position make or breaks the lift.

Yeah, if my feet are too close to me, with my heel up and the pressure is near the ball of my foot, it makes me unstable. I need to have my feet flat, pushing into the floor from my heel on through to the balls of feet.

That subtle difference has the potential to make or break my rep.

There's too much shit already in my rectum to fit my opinion in there too :eek:

Enjoy vacation, eat lots of pussy and be merry, and worry about your bench when you come back.

I find I do much better with as much of an arch as I can get, feet close-ish, and heels up although it makes it easier for my butt to come up.

I finally convinced a friend of mine to move his feet further away, similar to how I do it. His bench press is now noticeably more stable, his bar path has improved, his reps are more consistent, and he's putting up more weight.

One of the reasons he tried out my method was because his butt was coming off the bench on heavy doubles.

I bench with my legs wide resting on the balls of my feet and it seems to help. That along with a wide grip and shoulder blades close together to reduce the ROM because I have long ass arms.

My own arms are long and my wingspan is 6'2"...kinda crazy for my height which is 5'10"

Hows your deadlift? Long arms can be a big benefit for deads.
But long legs can be a PITA for deads too..and my legs are rather longish too
 
I think long legs are what makes it a bit more difficult for me. Plus I'm not even flexible enough to touch my toes lol.

Exactly what I do! I have my feet about as wide as the outer rings on the bar where I grip for wide bench press. The way my body is built I cannot do a deadlift with my feet close together. I just don't move that way.
 
I worked so hard this cycle and now all the sudden my diet has been shit this last week. It's hard bouncing back from that 1 cheat meal a week. It fucks with my head for days and makes me want to eat bad cause that meal was so damn good.

This is all in your head. A week's worth of horrible dieting won't break what you did the other 8ish weeks. You'd say my diet is filthier than a 2$ Tijuana crack hooker and while aesthetics aren't my primary concern, my diet keeps me happy with my body composition. Also my reined just got his pro card recently and he was eating brownies and ice cream all the way up to 8% and cut them out about 3wks before the show I believe. Just goes to show you how little what you eat matters when your macros and calories are dialed in right.
