Odie's First Log

My legs have always been big enough to make my nuts very uncomfortable. I'm gonna measure these fuckers when I get home. ( my thighs not my nuts) My waist is 32. Well that's my pants waist size at the moment. I want my thighs around that size.

Then get that squat rack in there and a couple of muscle head trainers and stay out of that plush ass resort/gym and train hardcore with just a few guys and no distractions . My advice .

Figured it was going to be very close. What about flipping it up from the long edge rather than the short edge instead as the diagonal from the 4 foot long side will be shorter than from the long edge.

EDIT: Taking the monkey bar off temporarily is also a good idea
I laid it out at 4ft wide and 7ft5" for height or distance between the layout lines , so that is the shortest length. But if he can knock off 2" hes good.

Good sense right there! Best way for him to go about getting ready for that meet ;)

That's why I love my gym... not necessarily hard core, but small and old school feeling, only a couple people in at a time... very few machines... maybe 3?.... then again it is owned and mainly occupied by power lifters :)

Nah im fucked. I just looked at the total foot print of my model and one that doesnt have the monkey bar and the dimesions are the exact same. So they must just be giving me the specs of the frame without the accessories. Fuck guess im gonna go up in the attic and see how the studs are laid out so I can bring it up inbetween them

Well that's the problem. Were already talking about moving. Lol it will be a few years but I don't see us here more then 2 years. Maybe less then that cause my buddy boiler is working on something's to get me to move up there.

This is what i would do. Figure out where you want it, then cut out the drywall from middle of stud to middle of stud. Stand up your rack then put the cut out back up tape and mud let it dry then apply what ever finish to match ( they sell texture spray in a can) paint and your done piece of cake!!!

Yep don't want to butcher up a house that could be going on the market . But I've done stuff like this before , custom installation in then removed and patched up a few yrs later.

Depends on how much it means to you and how much work/money your willing to put into it. Like everything else in life...

Well I have been measuring from my rubber mat on the floor to the ceiling and that gave me 8.4. When I measured from concrete to ceiling just now its 8.5" 1/4. So ill move a mat and stand it up on the concete. Since Im only a 1/4" off I may not cut holes in the ceiling. I will probably just get pissed at it and ram that fucker into the dry wall and just deal with 1/4" indentions. Thats what im hoping anyway

That's what I would do to, I hate drywall.

In fact if you stand it up till it touches the ceiling , then pull the bottom into place instead of letting it scrape the ceiling , the damage might be zero.

Im sure were gonna fuck some dry wall up. lol Theres only 2 of us and it weighs over 500 lbs. My buddy is gonna be so pissed. I shouldnt of ordered this thing during the hottest time of the year.

Shit seems to always happen like that. Just look at my dumbass lol. I mean who the fuck runs tren in July an August? This guy right here that's who lmfao while smfh:p:rolleyes: I hope you get that beast installed with as little hassle as possible Odie;)

Where there's a will there's a way and I'm sure you'll shoehorn that beast of a rack in there. Like what Trukker said yesterday, putting huge things in small spaces is quite doable ;)

@OdieM, for the next house you buy why not put your gym setup in a large shed if there's plenty of land? I'd suggest a shed that's 12'x18' minimum size and they go for maybe around $8-10K. This way you would have some privacy as well.

I'm as happy as a kid on Christmas morning. I wish the pics did it justice. It is fucking solid. Still waiting on my power bar cause the first one they shipped me had damage to it. Also I ordered the bowflex adjustable bench. ( decline, 90, incline). It's on it's way and will look good in here cause it will match the bowflex. Still got a few things to get before I can cancel the gym membership but I'm getting there.

Oh and by the way it didnt hit the ceiling. It came in 2 pieces. ( left side, right side ). Then you bolt the monkey bar and the EliteFTS plate to each side to make it one piece. Anyway I only had to bring up one side at a time so it never came close to hitting the ceiling. By the way @Mr.B66 your math was way off. Once it was assembled and we looked at it and my ceiling needed to be an extra 4' higher to be able to flip the hole unit.

Do you guys have separate days dedicated to hams, guads and calves???? I need to really start working on my lower body. I've always just had a whole leg day. Every now and then I will throw in calves on shoulder day or something.
Yes. I have a quad only day, and a hamstring and calves day. Don't have to hold back knowing that you still have to work the other body part. If you work quads fully, there shouldn't be anything left in the tank for hams, imo
