Over 40 - AAS /TRT resource

Good thread here. I’m 43 and finishing up my first year of AAS blasts and TRT cruises. Definitely learned a lot and the more I learn the more convinced I am that this is the best lifestyle decision I ever made. Definitely feel younger, healthier, and happier than I ever have before. This in turn has made the wife feel younger, healthier and happier. We joke around about how old we wanted to be in our 30s and how we act like teenagers again while in our 40s.

I’m still enjoying being as big as I possibly can be and moving big weights. I do see the end of that though and will lighten up in the next couple years. Until then I’m still enjoying these big blasts. I look forward to many years of test and primo after I bust it thru these next couple years of test and nandrolone/Tren blasts.
I agree with you. Best decision I’ve made as well for all of the same reasons you mentioned. Even better that I took control of it myself, continue to learn and essentially be my own doc. I have not yet tried primo with test but plan to run it next cycle and am looking forward to it.

I’ve gone theee weeks between test e shots multiple tiMes and felt just fine.
Never tried test u. When u blast every other week, do you find yourself chasing your e2 up and down or does it stay pretty manageable?

I'm 43. I did my first cycle 14 years ago, and I've been blasting and cruising for 10 years. Staying on test year round was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
So you’ve been doing this a lot longer than me...I’m on year 3. Over the past decade, what’s worked for you with different AI’s? Any long term sides from any of it? What’s worked best for you?

I don't even run an AI anymore. Currently using 10mg of Nolva ed with current blast just to block some estrogen at the receptors.

Elevated estrogen levels don't bother me in fact I think it's very beneficial. Maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones who it's not prone to sides.
I’m hearing more guys like you say the same thing about AIs. My first TRT doc prescribed ADEX and said it was mandatory but I’m going to look into this more. I just don’t trust many doctors anymore. Too many people get stuck into the “one size pill fits all”

Im 50 Ive been on trt for 4 years. I started with a clinic until they jacked up the prices. Then I found a endo that I had a script from but he wanted blood work every 90 days and cut me down to 100mgs a week. If Im going to jam a needle in my ass I want my test levels around 800 not 400 plus the co-pays were adding up fast. I finally got pissed and bought some raws and brew my own. I picked up a lifetime supply for about $500. :D

Mid-40’s here. On Rx TRT just over 2 years. Ran a couple cycles 20-years ago, and as I got older 8nto late 20’s between grad school, a car wreck, then family and jobs, got out of lifting and competitive sports for way too long. Literally got old, fat and out of shape. Past few years dedicated my focus more towards health and happiness. Have done a few conservative cycles focused on recomp.

My current TRT doc is fucking awesome. Tests 1x per year for hormone levels, which is 100% covered by my insurance annual physical allowance. He’s had me on 300mg a week the past 14 months now. I get 10ml Watson/activis vials for $20 and get one every 6-weeks. It’s nice as I can drop down to 200ml for a a couple months, then when I blast I have extra pharm grade test to work with whatever compound I’m going to run.

My first TRT doc really pushed an AI. She was a close friend and my general doc, who admittedly didn’t have the greatest amount of experience in this area but agreed to help me. She Rx’d me Arimidex at 1mg a day! Granted I knew better and only took about .5mg a week. That ultimately proved more than necessary. Good news was she was overly receptive and would read whatever I would bring to her—and the way the Rx was written for the Adex, I had plenty on hand essentially free.

I did seem to be a high metabolizer as my bloods would always come back lower than I’d expect for what she had me at, and after several friends recommended my current doc, I figured I’d give him a try—and so glad I did. He’s the man, but doesn’t like Ai’s Much at all. He did ultimately give me an AI too, but I basically just take .25mg every 4-5 days when on my Rx TRT— little more frequently if on blast.

Simply loving life these days and TRT has proven one of the best things I ever did. All my blood stats are excellent when not screwing around with Anavar, which I admittedly love and tanks my HDL for the 6-8 weeks I run it but bounces back quickly within a few weeks. Other health markers such as fasting glucose, total cholesterol and ratios, triglycerides, blood pressure, body fat%, everything really where I want it. Having lived with a much more robust stature in my 30’s, wish my skin was a little tighter in a few places—but just like the wrinkles in my face the gray hairs that keep popping up everywhere, just part of the joy of getting old and hellova lot better than the alternative.

Some days I think I want to try tren, then others I think I’m too old and just not the right compound for my needs. Since I do a fair bit of endurance sports a few portions of the year, I keep up with cardio year round and the things I hear of tren’s impact on endurance has kept me from trying it.

Damn, I would like to start seeing your doc. What are the chances he’s anywhere near MN? I know...nothing comes that easy for me. I’m also wanting to give Tren a try..starting low dose, because some of the sides sound shitty. Don’t buy in to the “others think I’m too old” shit. It’s about what you think. Kick ass and be that 50 year old guy in the gym who looks more jacked than the average 20 yr old. Now that is motivation to me.

Tren isn’t that bad until it is. I did a first run this last summer to try it and to see where my sweet spot might be. Ran TrenA I started at 250 mg/week and ramped it up 50 mg every other week. I felt fine the first few weeks. Felt the best at 350-400 then at 450 things got a little uncomfortable and at 500 shit got nuts for me and I bailed out after 7 weeks.

I learned though at ran a little TrenA to kick off my winter bulk instead of running an oral. I did 300 a week for 8 weeks and felt totally fine the whole time.

It hits everyone differently so try it out, use TrenA, realize we ain’t unstoppable 20 year olds, respect it and as soon as it starts to be unbearable drop out of it.

It won’t turn you into a raving psychotic. But you might have a slightly shorter temper.

Great advice and info. Thanks! I will take baby steps.

Have any of you guys run cycles while doing the Keto diet. Last time I cycled i was not. But for the past year my wife and I have been 100% keto without a single cheat. For the cynics who say why keto: I lost 35 lb fat, feel younger, havent had so much as a cold, no more allergies, joint and back pain gone and a lot of other benefits we’ve noticed over time. Wondering if any of you guys ran a cycle this way. If so, how did it go? When your body has detoxed from all the shit we’ve been raised to believe is good for you but isn’t, have your bloodwork results come back more in acceptable ranges, or become easier to manage? This will be my first cycle in over a year since before I changed my diet completely, when I kinda ate healthy. So I can’t weigh in on this yet.

I stay on test e or cyp at 200 mg/week year round, or more recently test u at 225 mg/week. I don't need high AI doses with this amount of test unless I add another aromatizing compound like trestolone. With test only, I take maybe 6 to 10 mg/week exemestane to keep estradiol in range.

Long term side effects include body hair growth and head hair loss. The quality of life benefits greatly outweigh any side effects I've experienced.

Luckily I haven’t had the head hair loss yet, even with primo and mast it stays put—but shit sure is turning silver quickly. Wife says the silver hair makes my balls look fast.

For you fellow old fuckers that have run tren post-40, what endurance/cardio impact did you notice and at what dosage? More importantly, how long did it take to bounce back after last pin? Hear stories of even young guys getting winded making a sandwich. The results seem worth trying it out once, I just have to time it right as to not muck up more important goals during my seasons.

I’ve don’t two cycles on Keto, one of just test with anavar kickoff and one of test/primo again with anavar for first several weeks. They were both solid for recomp, put on some solid mass and lost %BF. I’ve added carbs back in the past year, but still zero added sugars and all Whole Foods, no processed anything. I seem to grow better with sufficient carbs, and don’t waste as much muscle during summer where I have some l9ng endurance days where I easily burn 6,500+ Calories a day 2-4 days a week. Haven’t had a scoop of ice cream or a piece of candy in over two years, but love my oats, brown rice, quinoa, etc.

Breathing issues for me on tren along with cardio hit fast. Not immediate but within a week and get worse for a bit. I'd say recovery takes a month (very long tren cycle). I don't have data but that was my recent experience running tren past 40 for the first time.

Late to the show
47
Doctor prescribed trt for a few years then just running my own home brew .
Pull bloods at least twice a year
I'll add some other injectables from time to time. Some proviron.

Has anyone tried taking D Aspartic Acid (DAA) to combat the hair loss? I used to take it as a test booster. It made my hair grow to the point I needed haircuts every 3 weeks. I got one of my employees husbands on it and it grew hair on his bald head. It was short and coarse but in 2 weeks it was noticeable.

It's a part of my "muscle juice" a pre/post workout juice that I drink daily. I noticed that anavar and npp both make both body hair and head hair much coarser, but it grows more rapidly on my juice.

The only other real side effect of DAA is it gives you a bigger load. Not sure if it is a higher sperm count but definitely a bigger mess.

And does anyone know of long term affects of staying on NPP continuously at 100 a week? My back, knees, hips, and shoulders haven't felt this good since I was 18.

Don’t do Tren on a keto diet. Tren makes you need carbs and sugars or you’ll get shaky from being hypoglycemic.

I did a keto diet 2 years ago to successfully drop 40 pounds and reset my eating. Since then I don’t eat refined carbs at all and find myself limiting carbohydrates in general.

When I’ve run Tren in two cycles you feel shaky and need to feed the beast. But the nutrient partitioning efficiency that your body has on Tren makes it just about impossible to get fat. You just need to readjust while on versus while off.

There is a trt dr in maple grove that’s amazing.

Thanks for that info. I do intermittent fasting almost every day as well for the huge health benefits. I have had zero difficulty putting on lean mass and keeping gains while just doing trt cruise at 200. Probably not putting on mass like a guy in his 20’s but it's still noticeable to me. I’m thinking of taking some good carbs immediately before and after my workouts to see if that kicks things up a notch. Keto goes against everything we’ve had forced down our throats since we were kids so it’s hard for some to get their heads around it. Thank you very much for that Tren info.

Thats funny, thats where I went for the first few years. Yeah, good place. I just decided to take it into my own hands to save $$$.
I’m thinking about calling and seeing what test runs to try get onto trt
