Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

Thank you.

Interesting. Have you tried it for deadlifts?

yes, this was the first belt i owned and used in my first meet. i got a different (10mm) belt shortly before i did the meet with some guys on the board. ive never tried a 13mm belt but i dont think id like one, personally.

they also have this 3" variation of the 6.5mm. this may be better for benching for you. im 6'3 so a three inch belt has very little coverage area

Damn you're tall. Ok I'll look into them today. Thank you. You guys are a wealth of knowledge and help.

219lbs

Competition squat 370x5, 390x5, 410x5, 410x5, 410x5, 410x5, 410x5
Sumo block pulls 495x1, 510x1, 535x1, 535x1, 535x1
Bulgarian split squats 195lbs for 4x7
When you're doing the split squats how do you apply weight? Barbell? I feel like I would have to have an entire gym session dedicated to learning how to do it with the BB. Feel like i would have a hard time...

I recently used my 3" deadlift belt for my heavy bench day and I liked it.
Where did you get your 3" deadlift belt from?

I'm 5'9" I have the SBD belt love it for squats. But I really have to fool around with positioning to find my sweet spot when deadlifting.

@Perrin Aybara @theprodgicalson do you wear your belt as tight as possible for both deads and squats? Do you guys wear your belt high low and right in between?

I don't wear it super tight. I wear it about middle position.

That looks nice...I might buy one as that's a good price. How is 10mm though? seems rather thick. Time for me to ditch my old Valeo nylon belt.

i cant wear a belt super tight. just tight enough that i can still force my abs and obliques into the belt. i wear mine low. i cant do high because i have really large lungs/ribs. or so i was told years ago when i had some xrays done. anything where the middle of the belt is above my belly button is no buenos . smashes my ribs. i would say my position is the top of the belt just touching my belly button. its the most comfortable for me. occasionally ill get bruises on my hips because of this but it does not bother me or hurt me at all.

Thanks for the input. I can't wear mine to low. I like right around my navel. For deads I'm going invest in a 3 inch belt just has been difficult finding a comfortable position that doesn't mess with my setup

I am gonna get that 3 inch one myself...looks solid yet doesn't get too much in the way.
