Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

Weight was 231lbs

Five minute cardio warm-up and a few various stretches
Beltless low bar squat 315 6, 6, 6, 6, 10 (tried the sleeves out, they felt good and squats were moving really fast)
Strict press 135 3x10
Good mornings 135x10, 155x10, 185x10 (most I'd ever done on these despite not doing them in forever and was still fairly easy)
Slingshot bench press 315 3x8 (easy)
Weighted planks +55 for three one minute sets
Side raises 12 3x10
Cable rear delt flyers 15 2x10 and one set with a 5lb dumbbell
Twenty minutes on the stationary bicycle

Feeling pretty good in the gym overall, no lingering aches and not feeling winded like last week.

Glad you're liking the sleeves so far. I'm not sure on mine just yet. The STrong sleeves are more comfortable but I feel like maybe my SBD's give a little more pop. I may go back to the SBD's on heavy days.... Feel like the STrong sleeves run a touch bigger size wise than the SBD's.

I like them so far, never tried any others. The website claims 40-50 pounds (results may vary), I honestly didn't feel like it added much of anything, but I didn't get them tight either. I got them for the possible knee injury prevention more than anything else.

Weight tonight was 232lbs

Five minute cardio warm-up
Strict press 160 6, 6, 6, 6, 12 (maybe a rep PR? Never do sets of 12)
Beltless high bar squat 300 3x8 (felt easy)
Two second paused bench press 300 3x3 (decided to do these rather than floor press since I did slingshot on Tuesday)
Chin ups 12, 12, 8 (crazy how fast I lost strength on these not doing them for a couple weeks)
Hammer curls 25's 3x10
Twenty minute stationary bicycle

Really digging the knee sleeves so far.

Got a phone call last night about helping someone move a bar out of a basement this morning. I think it was the heaviest, most awkward thing I've ever moved. Was about 7'6" by about 2 or 3 feet, heavy wood with a little overhang on the front. Of course the stairway was narrow and the thing was built in the basement. We had two guys pushing up and I was on the stairs picking up and pulling by myself. Ended up falling on my ass, so I'm in a terrible position with my feet under on the lower stairs and barely keeping the bar from crushing my ankles. Another guy had to lean over me and pull while the other guys held on and I had to squeeze my feet out. Seriously could have been a very bad situation. We ended up getting it though and I made some money for a short job. Good pre workout.

The weather is so beautiful I illegally drove my antique car to the gym (plates only cover driving it in the warm months). I couldn't help myself though, it's one of those days. I have a theory that driving a muscle car to the gym improves performance. Based on anecdotal evidence only, of course.

Anyway,
Weight was 229lbs :eek::eek::eek:
It is a morning weighing though and I usually weigh after work.

Five minute cardio warm-up
Beltless conventional deadlift 425 6, 6, 6, 10 (feeling good and getting my groove back)
Front squat 135x10, 155x10, 160x10
Strict press 135 3x10 (was supposed to do heavier sets of 8, but I wasn't thinking clearly apparently)
Side raises and rear delt flyes with dumbbells
Skipped the planks since I'm working out alone and didn't feel like bothering with it

Twenty minutes of stationary bicycle

I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful day. Still loving the knee sleeves, too.

Nice lifting , and yes riding a motorcycle or muscle car at illegal speeds before going to the gym results in bigger GAINZ ! Subbed here ~Ogh

Muscle cars or motorcycles increase testosterone by 15% and coolness level by 100% so therefor gym performance goes up by a minimum of 10% this is why I ride my sports bike to the gym any chance I can... As fast as I can. Good looking lifts glad your conventional is coming back good

This. When I ride that little scooter in my AVI to the gym all my lifts good up 10%. Adrenaline, love it.

It's official, sick rides improve lifts 10% minimum.

Yeah, RT, conventional is feeling good. 425x10 was nowhere near max effort. I'll jump 20 pounds each week for two weeks and I'd like to see my AMRAP stay at 10 reps. I should be good for that. I'm really not sure what my 10 rep PR is beltless or otherwise, I know I got 495x8 sumo. Still trying to take it easy on most stuff, haven't went over 80% on anything, mostly 60-70% the last two weeks.

Oh yeah, almost forgot about this. The dude I was talking about in Rob's log that's always screaming and talking about how strong he is was at the gym today. He asked me how the meet went and I told him about it. This dude warms up for deadlift and goes to 605 and misses it twice. I could be wrong, but it seemed pretty obvious he wanted to outdo my pull by five pounds while I was right there. He's strong, I'll give him that, he got 585x2 with terrible form, but it would've counted. I'm really not sure what to think of this guy.
