Post your Controversial Opinions here

Shit, now there is no chance to legalize steroids with your new president.

I heard that Harris was a guy who transitioned or transformed to a girl, he/she would support testosterone for everyone who wants it. Man, Americans just hate us bodybuilders badly…
The worst country for gear is Norway from what I've read on this forum. A few natives even recommended to not "do gear" if living in Norway.

They will send the SWAT team to break down your door for like a few vials.

Yeah, but nobody is looking at Norway as basis of how they legislate steroids.

Plus, the biggest stage for bodybuilding, the Olympia, is in the US, so whatever stance they have on ped use in the sport radiates to the rest of the world. What I am saying is US in the most part, generally influences other countries on their stance on steroid use.

I'll roll with it too. In fact, I've been rolling with it... by default, it's my belief respect is warranted towards others, regardless of their beliefs... their "identity." However, better understanding a fellow human's view makes it less of a "burden."

I appreciate your willingness to be understanding. These are topics that are pretty close at a hand that I have to deal with, and developing a compassionate perspective is paramount.

I've certainly seen such things weaponized, however. For example, getting somebody's pronouns wrong is not a "micro-aggression" it's a mistake, especially if one's gender presentation doesn't closely match their desired pronouns. Sometimes these folks also fail to realize that people are entitled to use any language they want.

This is what I’m referring to when I say the cholesterol hypothesis.

Based on data from 1955-1985. The "hypothesis" is less so now.

I don’t believe the “science is [ever] settled,” and personally think that’s a dangerous position to take.

This is a good position to take.

Suggesting that the science is settled doesn't preclude the inclusion of new information, which is implicit in the "science" part. I will clarify my point however. Many people use the "cholesterol hypothesis" to justify the assertion that there is uncertainty about the mechanism by which plaque burden accumulates and the role that LDL takes in that process.

As of 1985, we understood that there was a correlation between LDL and MACE, thus the "hypothesis". As of 2024, the mechanism of action is well understood. More specifically, there is a greater understanding of the behavior of atherogenic particles that come as a result of NMR lipid analysis.

They sure do. For example, these expectations that men protect and provide for their families are exhausting. I had to take a second job to move my family to a nicer, safer community with better schools.

Are you complaining? This reads like a complaint. Buck up and get 'er done. Seems like you found a noble purpose. Get after it and expect no sympathy from me. In fact, I'll simply consider you fortunate for having found things to be so simple.

Would be so liberating to shed all that masculine responsibility and embark on a non-gender conforming path of whimsical self-indulgence while everything crumbles around me.

Would it, though? If I deprived you of your purpose, you'd lose your fucking mind.

Some people are more or less well-equipped to take on these gender norms. They are norms after all. The issues lie in the margins. Out on the ends of the bell curve, some people are fundamentally different and are entitled to a certain amount of liberty.

With RFK being put into a position to reform the FDC/CDC/HHS, things are actually looking up. I heard RFK in the past discuss TRT and all the great benefits he has personally experienced from it.

I wouldn't bet any money on RFK. Not that he won't do the things he says he'll do. It's just, well, President-Elect Trump is notorious for firing everybody around him like yesterday. You think RFK is going to last till the inauguration?

No, this is sarcasm. I am making fun of people who rail against gender norms as if that were a real problem.

Some people are more or less well-equipped to take on these gender norms. They are norms after all. The issues lie in the margins. Out on the ends of the bell curve, some people are fundamentally different and are entitled to a certain amount of liberty.
That fair, but then the question becomes: how do we make sure these non-gender conformers remain out on the margins? Because if they were to expand out too far from the margins, and infiltrate the center of the bell curve, the consequences for society might be catastrophic. Hence the need to find the Goldilocks zone of compassion: not too little, not too much.

I am not unsympathetic to these people. I host a bi-weekly gaming group in my home, with gay men, a bisexual polyamorous militant feminist woman, and a trans person that started female and is now who knows what after a number of surgeries. The fact is that none of them, if their approach to life were replicated en masse, could sustain our society. None of them are raising children nor transmitting our values to the next generation.

While we need to practice compassion for those who struggle with traditional gender expectations, we also need to realize that these form the foundation of our civilization. Express yourself however you want, but if you aren't living in a way that supports the continued health of our society, don't expect that you will receive any special encouragement.
