MESO-Rx Exclusive President Obama designates Asia Pharma owner under Kingpin Act

Asia Pharma company (registration?) inactive in Malaysia, company phone and fax number not in service according to Federal Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department deputy director Datuk Haris Wong Abdullah. Malaysian police not particularly concerned with AP being registered in Malaysia since no anabolic steroids were ever imported/exported to/from Malaysia.

Federal Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department deputy director Datuk Haris Wong Abdullah said police had checked out the company's operations and found it to be inactive.

"We have found no truth in the reports of anabolic steroids coming in or going out of the country. It is an issue which has been blown out of proportion," he told the New Straits Times.

"We are monitoring the situation as the suspect, Mihael Karner, currently an international fugitive is hiding in his native country. Police are checking with the Immigration Department whether he had previously visited Malaysia," Haris said.

A check on Google showed Asia Pharma was a limited liability pharmaceuticals company in Kuala Lumpur with a local phone and fax number but provided no mailing address. Both contact numbers were no longer in service.

Mohd Hatta Ahmad, the director of enforcement in the pharmaceutical services division of the Malaysia Health Ministry, says Asia Pharma not currently registered in Malaysia, legally or physically.

Asia Pharma Ltd, said to be a Kuala Lumpur-based pharmaceutical firm run by a suspected steroid trafficker from Slovenia with a worldwide operation, has an online presence here but is not registered nor authorised to trade in drugs in Malaysia, the Ministry of Health has said.

Mihael Karner was last week reported by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) to be behind an umbrella company advertising sales of anabolic steroids in Malaysia called Asia Pharma, and was among six individuals and groups listed by US President Barack Obama as a significant foreign drug trafficker under its Kingpin Act.

“Investigation conducted locally indicates that Asia Pharma does not have a physical address in Malaysia and the listed local phone number is not in service,” Mohd Hatta Ahmad, who is director of enforcement in the Health Ministry’s pharmaceutical services division, said in an email reply to The Malaysian Insider’s inquiry.

“Also the steroids were not brought into nor exported from Malaysia [sic] soil. It is probable that the said company reside [sic] its server locally without being legally nor physically registered in Malaysia,” he added...

Mohd Hatta said the Health Ministry’s checks on Asia Pharma also turned up empty as it was not registered as a pharmaceutical company with the Drug Control Authority, which is under the Control of Drugs and Cosmetics Regulations 1984 (CDCR).

“This company is therefore not authorised to trade in pharmaceutical products,” he said.

The trade of steroids is regulated in Malaysia under the Poisons Act 1952, Mohd Hatta said.

Why would Obama go after a steroid company? We have a HUGE heroin problem in the US. More and more people are using this deadly drug and it's becoming more readily available than ever. Leave steroids alone. Leave marijuana alone. Go after the real problems if you want to wage a war on drugs. The problem is NOT artificial testosterone. The real problem is all of the opiates that are LEGAL. They advertise these drugs on TV. The doctors are nothing more than drug peddlers for the big pharmaceutical companies. Let's focus on that! Sometimes I wonder what goes into the thought process when it comes to the war on drugs.
