Proviron apparently is just as dangerous to the cardiovascular system as several other orals

I read some information on The Steroid Clinic site which states that Proviron/Mesterolone ''has some of the most pronounced negative effects on cholesterol values of any of the commonly used performance/physique enhancing steroids'', greatly increasing the risk of cardiovascular plaque, in spite of its negligible effects on the liver. The site states that the risk is comparable to that of Anavar and small doses of Winstrol.
What really surprised me is that risk is said to be greater than that of Trenbolone.

This is fascinating to me because I always thought Proviron was one of the very mild drugs in terms of side effects. I was initially considering adding Proviron on a fairly consistent basis to Testosterone, but I'm not going to take something that is potentially just as damaging to my heart as several of the 17-alpha alkylated drugs yet does little in terms of promoting mass & strength gain.

Can anyone validate these claims?

Well of course they would say that its the steroid clinic site!

Well theres more to your health than blood tests. You can have a build up of plaque in your arteries that your blood tests won't show. As with anything, its a calculated risk. No one is going to be able to tell you 'yes' or 'no'. Keep your diet in check and your doses low to moderate and you'll avoid most of the risk in my opinion. Its the guys running 200mg of drol and a gram of deca that are going to die early.

More to your question, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that milder steroids still have serious side effects as more and more research is slowly done on them.

Proviron was widely prescribed in Europe as a libido booster & anti depressant for middle aged guys - and still is in some Southern countries like Portugal. It's even manufactured there.
Because of that it's been researched prior to and during usage more than any other steroid except perhaps Testosterone. I'd be surprised this effect on lipids wouldn't have been known/acted upon earlier...

I've been on the site but
can't see any links to scientific references/sources to back up those claims. Unless I've missed them.
Could you see any - and if so post the link?

Yeah I see your point. When a drug was first used as a medication there is generally much more solid scientific data on it then more obscure things. For example, good luck finding substantial clinical data on cheque drops.
Although the dosages the bodybuilding community use are almost always higher than therapeutic use.

Where would Cheque drops be used for human therapy and why? I was under the impression they were used to get bitches into heat.

Please post links to studies you are asking about.
Proviron definitely helps boost free testosterone, and excess androgens can cause an enlarged heart. Do I think proviron standalone can do this? No. Do I think proviron in conjunction with testosterone can do this? Absolutely.
Will it throw off your lipids? Yes, but I think negative impacts on lipid levels on any reasonable dose of steroid can easily be negated through watching what you eat.

It's also useless.

Exclusive of the short lived, at best, effects on libido PV is essentially worthless as an anabolic agent.

And in spite of PV being available by RX, the data is so sparse claims of efficacy or adverse effects are impossible to validate.

Surprising it's still prescribed in so many countries then - if it's as useless as some claim.

Yeah, anyone expecting to gain significant muscle with Proviron has broken expectations.

It's the same reason Anavar is considered useless by many.

Not worthless if you are running test. It will rise your free test considerably by lowering your sex hormone binding globulin.

I heard it will make your heart grow more than anything else
