PurplePandaLabs Raw source

Are the current prices "regular" price or is there still a sale going on?

Would like to pull the trigger soon because the current prices are more reasonable than they were.

The market is pretty fluid, with everything going on...the steroid bans, the virus. They are where they are right now.... If you're asking me if that will hold indefinitely, no one can answer really. I wouldn't sleep on it.

Well I wasn't expecting an immediate answer and saw where you replied to posts after mine even though I tagged you. So I figured it was a simple oversight.
The reason for wanting the composition is that borosilicate glass is resistant to all compounds breaking down linings on glass. It happens over time with cheaper glass where the glass delaminates.
But if it's too much of an effort to find out don't worry about it.

I'll get a message out to our glass composition engineer and ask.

Maybe ... maybe not.
I know a lot of others might not care.
It's just personal preference really.
You can always buy it and then buy your borosilicate vials and transfer them. I don’t think too many sources are going to pay attention to that and to be honest, given the choice, they probably would go for the cheapest ones.

I don't think you understand. I am looking for finished vials in borosilicate glass.
Why would I want to transfer from one vial to another?
Or maybe I just misunderstood your thought process?
All of my brew ware is borosilicate.
I have seen first hand aas stored in cheaper glass vials where the compounds have delaminated cheaper glass and make "floaters" over time.
I am not saying borosilicate glass is the only answer, there may be other glasses that can hold up, it's just the only one I know that can resist any composition.
I was planning on trying out PPL for a first time raws purchase and thought since they sold the 10ml vials I might be able to kill 2 birds with one stone.
However, I have other sources so no biggie.

I understand fully what you’re saying and what I’m saying is that @PandaRep is probably not going to look into the composition of their vials. Therefore, if you want this gear, your best bet is to buy it and then transfer it to borosilicate vials. If you don’t want to do that and you have sources who use it, stick with them.

Gotcha.
Well, back to the old source then.

you do realize those vials he is asking for were the standard vial once upon a time prior to some sources penny pinching and cutting corners with cheaper vials right?

It’s not a big deal to ask what kind of vial ppl is using no need for him to be chastised over such a question any other src would simply just answer without ridicule

Who chastised him? Maybe address this post to Pandarep who mocked him. I was letting him know his options and I’m not quite sure why you felt the need to address me.

You are correct on the vials. Most people are just unaware.

I don't feel like Villain chastised in any way though.

However, what the rep doesn't realize is that while I am small I process a few $k / month in raws.
It's a lack of sales experience I will attribute to the response.

I just thought I would give them a shot since I have never used them but it's all good as I already have a couple of sources.

It's all good brother. I saw no ill intent in your replies, I think although superbane quoted you, he was talking in general.

Now, let's ALL go have a good day and get some rest gains!

All good bro - didn’t want to come across as a jerk to you, and was just offering a suggestion. I get it that it’s totally inconvenient to you and you have your reasons for asking what you asked and why you want them. Glad you actually have a source who has taken the time to answer that and still does things the old way, regardless of cost.

you quoted him, I quoted you isn’t that how conversations usually go?
I wouldn’t want the focus of energy to shift from actually business back to feeding the troll.
i never said you were the one who did.
Nor am I going to address rob either.
I just put the information out there about the glassware so anybody who didn’t know or who was new to the game was aware and then I stated a fact that most good sources had no problem answering such rudimentary questions asked by an customer about supplies being used.

For clarity sake, the multi quote feature works wonders. All good bro.

Do you have any pics? I can't imagine any sort of glass actually delaminating and causing floaters. There are so many other more likely explanations for floaters...

Okay, to be clear here ... this did not happen to me using ANY source's finished gear.

I understand what you are saying about other sources of floaters but when the finished oil has been filtered through .45 and .2 filters it eliminates a lot of source for floaters.

I may be wrong but I determined through research that one of the causes could be the use of soda lime glass vs borosilicate glass.

Soda lime glass is known to leach into the compounds being housed in it. That is what is considered delaminates.

To top it off, I was using the cheapest Chinese vials I could get my hands on so there's that. Hell, they may not have even been soda lime glass for all I know.

Either way, I started using borosilicate glass and no further issues.

As far as the pics go, no I did not take any as it was my own personal brew and saw no need to take pics.

Also, I am not trying to be argumentative or start a debate as everyone can choose what they want to use. I was simply attempting to secure another source.

Also, not trying to offend anyone in the process, I'm just trying to do business.

For those interested or with iquisitive minds:

borosilicate glass is so resistant to chemicals, that it is even used to store nuclear waste. The boron in the glass makes it less soluble, preventing any unwanted materials from leaching into the glass, or the other way around. In terms of overall performance, borosilicate glass is far superior to regular glass.

I read that exact article. The only question I have that didn’t seem to be addressed was how long it would take for delaminating to occur. It also seemed that heating up the glass is what caused the leeching.

Ahhhh...were shipping. Where'd you get this info from?
I got this info from every news source in the US that "Right now, all sorts of products aren't reaching the U.S. because of the coronavirus outbreak that originated in Wuhan, China, officially called COVID-19. Reciprocally, many U.S. agricultural and forestry products aren't shipping back into China and other Pacific Rim countries. Global trade watchers say backed-up trade is building up on both sides of the Pacific Ocean"(feb 20th). Im glad you have not experienced any of this tho because I have put an order in because i need a new raw source (one I had for years disappeared). Anyway it was a bit concerning thought id bring it up
