I never bring it up... I just go in to donate like a regular donation and after I leave... I call and say I am coming down with a severe cold and they toss it. I am normally on atleast cialis, test, exemestane, and a few other things while cruising and don't know how that may affect someone. There are a lot of reasons they won't accept your blood donation, so I wouldn't bring it up. When they test your donation they will obviously not use it if it doesn't meet the requirements.

Until very recently I worked in a hospital laboratory and covered blood bank a lot transfusing blood to critically ill people. When you donate they take about 1/20th of your total blood supply. This then gets separated into 4 products, plasma, platelets, cryo and packed red blood cells. All your extra hormones are in the plasma which gets frozen and when transfused to someone it ends up being like a 1/40th addition total if that makes sense? RBCs are the most commonly transfused product and these people really need it. None of your hormones will be present. The amount in the plasma and platelets the additional hormones will be negligible.

Long story short these people really need your blood products to survive and all the shit we put in our body has no effect, so please don’t call and tell them to throw your blood away.

Thanks for the info. I was being cautious about a situation I wasn't knowledgeable about and took someone's advice on the internet. Imagine that... misinformation on the internet.

Question: Why do they ask you about medications that you are taking and if you were in say Europe in the 80's from this to that year? Why are there so many questions that can disqualify a person from giving blood. Are viruses to small for the filtration process?
