"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." Newton's Third Law

And here some lyrics from my favorite band's (Insomnium) newest album, Heart like a Grave:

Mute is the sorrow of mine
Voiceless the yearning inside
Dark is the path in the end
Sore are the wounds I hide

Once there was a time when they all praised my name
Once there was a time when hearts turned to me
For even the birds hearkened to my songs
That quivered in the wind
Echoed through the night

But where is the glory, the gold and fame now
But where is the crown that once blazed on my brow
Not one by my side anymore
This wretched old bard unsung and torn

Mute is My Sorrow by Insomnium

"There is something about yourself that you don't know. Something that you will deny even exists until it's too late to do anything about it. It's the only reason you get up in the morning, the only reason you suffer the shitty boss, the blood, the sweat and the tears. This is because you want people to know how good, attractive, generous, funny, wild and clever you really are. 'Fear or revere me, but please think I'm special.' We share an addiction. We're approval junkies. We're all in it for the slap on the back and the gold watch. The "hip, hip, hoo-fucking-rah." Look at the clever boy with the badge, polishing his trophy. Shine on, you crazy diamond. Cos we're just monkeys wrapped in suits, begging for the approval of others." Revolver

"There are some sins that you commit that you can't come back from, you know, no matter how hard you try. You just can't. It's like the devil is waiting for your body to quit. Because he knows, he knows that he already owns your soul. And then I think maybe there's no devil. You die... and God, he says, Nah, nah you can't come in. You have to leave now. You have to leave and go away and you have to be alone. You have to be alone forever." - Bob Saginowski, The Drop

“Bane: No one cared who I was until I put on the mask.”
― Christopher Nolan , The Dark Knight Rises

“Bane: Oh, you think darkness is your ally. But you merely adopted the dark; I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING! The shadows betray you, because they belong to me! I will show you where I have made my home while preparing to bring justice. Then I will break you.”
― Christopher Nolan , The Dark Knight Rises

“Bane: Peace has cost you your strength! Victory has defeated you!”
― Christopher Nolan , The Dark Knight Rises

There are some great lyrics that I will be adding to this thread too.

I have always been a fan of reading the lyrics as I listen to music. Certain artists put A LOT into their writing.

You went down a deep, dark wormhole with that. Now I'm nervous.:)

That's just life in a nutshell. I only see my boss like once a year though.

Hahaha, man. Depression and I have a long history together. I don't have it as bad as others I suppose, I've honestly never even had a thought or feeling that I've wanted to hurt myself or others. I just feel like it's part of who I am.

Ironically, sad music makes me feel better, always has. I listen to a lot of deathcore, brutal death metal/slam, tech death, djent etc., which is all angry as fuck (not all but most of it) but there is something about some good ol' sad doom metal or melodic death metal that resonates with me. It's the raw emotion of it all.

It's the same reason why I like earlier country music as opposed to the shit that they play today. You could feel a lot more emotion in the older stuff than you can today.
