Realistically, the war in Ukraine started in 2014 with a US state department coup/color revolution that installed most of the government in Ukraine today. The same ones that were paying hunter Biden and John Kerry.

After this coup in Ukraine the government installed by the US state department under none other than Joe Biden as vice president in charge of foreign policy expressed it's anti Russian sentiment very loudly, even banning Russian as use for one of the countries official languages.
The predominantly Russian speaking areas of Ukraine, like Crimea and the Donbas seen this government as hostile towards them and attempted to distance themselves from Kiev.
It's no wonder why

Crimea voted to succeed and annex to Russia by an overwhelming majority, Luhansk and Donestk had small but significant ukranian populations and civil war begins.
Russia took in tens of millions of refugees and the fighting went on for 8 years. Joe Biden was "installed" president and immediately began howling for Ukraine to join NATO. The civil war in Donbas escalated between the ethnic Russian people and the Azov battalion of Ukraine and Russia decided it had seen enough and decided to get involved.
You don't have to agree with Putin or care about Russia to understand that the US state department has plenty of blame in this, and that it's not a coincidence that the same corrupt Eastern European ogliarchy that bribed Joe Biden for years is the same one today we're sending trillions of dollars in cash and weapons to fight a war that's really only going to benifit a few very rich people.

Eventually, bathe predominantly ethnic Russian parts of Ukrain will succeed or be annexed by Russia and the western banks will loot what's left while keeping the Donbas and Russian border as volitile as possible as they probe continuously for weak points for eastward NATO/US empirical expansion.
This is obvious to any reasonable person who looks at the situation
