I was surprised too. I honestly had decided their app was too much trouble to use so all I was really doing by emailing them was just taking a shit on them because I was angry. But they sent a constructive response and got me working rapidly. Been using it ever since with no trouble at all.Yea I remember doing all the verification with cash app a few years back myself after coinbase decided to hold my crypto for 10+days before being allowed to send it….cash app is the way to go and I’ve had no hiccups at all.
Tbh I’m amazed cash app had enough customer service to respond to you, I’ve heard it’s usually pretty bad.
Accordingly I can't say what their support would be like for any issues past just getting set up to use it. But again, I haven't needed any support at all so far. It's just worked.
In the interim, before I got that constructive response back from Cash, I did start the process to get set up with Coinbase. I don't remember all the particulars, but by comparison they were ten times as infuriating to try to use as Cash turned out to be. I was extremely relieved that Cash actually turned into a viable option so I didn't have to fuck with Coinbase.
There is the point that if you buy your btc with something like Cash and then transfer it to Coinbase and pay with it, supposedly it adds another layer of security to anyone trying to spy on your btc transactions. So I've read, anyway.
I haven't bothered with all that, as I still don't understand it. I just use Cash for both the buying and sending. Having been to prison before for real big-boy offenses, I'm not scared in the slightest that someone might be spying on my gear purchases via my btc transactions. I get all that about being safe and secure, but honestly at this level of badness, the feds just aren't that into us. They can't keep up with all the people buying and selling heroin and methamphetamine via btc with total impunity. They don't care about my gear purchases at all. Probably don't care about yours either.
