Hey guys been watching some YouTube videos of late and noticed ppl like Calum von moger stay pretty lean year round and still build muscle! I'm cutting atm and seeing my abs again! Tbh next bulk I want to stay lean! Just asking what them dudes do? Just diet/cardio or something with drugs?
At the end of the day I just wanna be ripped and huge Lol

I've never even been "competition ready", but can only imagine the dedication it must take to get there and practically stay there all year.

If I had to guess, I'd bet that Mr.O competitors who can pull it off stick to grueling training cycles, drug regimens, and diets that would be damn near impossible for normal folks.

I'm sure regular people can get big and stay lean all year, I work with many of them, but they wouldn't be ready to step on a stage anytime soon. Kudos to you if you can pull it off.

That's the thing though, and I'm not disagreeing with you, but while we're still only getting a small portion of their lives through YouTube/Instagram/Snapchat/Twitter (although with that much social media you could almost argue that you are getting the big picture) these guys like Bradley Martyn, Von Moger, etc don't seem to be living that rigid lifestyle at all yet they still look like they could walk on stage with maybe a week of prep. I don't have the answers, I just know I'm jealous

Nutrition and cardio are what keep you in lean condition year round. But keep in mind that a lot of these people that are famous on you tube and insta film multiple videos and take a lot of pics all in a few day span, and then just schedule the posts to be spread out. They don't have to be lean all the time. I do the same in my business. Shoot 10 videos over a few days and then take two weeks off work essentially.

Same thing for the pros, as we all know. Many photo shoots are pre and post competition cuz these guys don't hold that condition indefinitely.

If you want to be lean all year just eat clean and keep an eye on your abs

I call bullshit and ignorance. I workout at golds gym venice beach and I see calum von moger every day almost and he is lean 24/7/365 but if you are talking about being under 7% bf then It is another thing

Totally agree. Talking about being vasky and pre contest lean.. And it's still controllable with your nutrition. Eat shit and your condition isn't going to hold. Plain and simple

Genetics.

A lot of us want to be as big as we can be, our weight and what the scale says a lot of the time will mentally dictate how well we are doing when looking to get big. I trained with a guy who was 260 at his most in the off season and competed at 198, wtf! obviously he was carrying around 60 pounds of shit! He wasn't fat it was just water and bloat. Avoiding this and maintaining a lean look all year round is just as much mental then physical.
Diet is key also the way certain compounds effect you. Running high test, deca, drol, dbol ect might not be the way to go. Like others stated primo, eq and even var can be extremely valuable even when bulking, I am always bulking, always trying to grow. I never go above 10% bf whats the point? Once you figure out your body and what works for you as far as amount of cardio, training, diet and gear, its not that hard to remain lean and cut even when you go off drugs. Looking at what a pro does is probably not what the average person can emulate. Money, and time have a lot to do with it.

What's your caloric intake when on a bulking cycle. Can you eat 5000 cal a day and stay lean ?
When I was bulking I was 4-4.5k
Still pretty lean but my abs weren't as defined.
I'm with @Sk8man101 I've always been ripped but I started out a twig, I gained very very slowly. The faster you put on muscle the more fat your accumulating as well.
Yeah it's hard for me to gain fat or muscle.
Yes for the few blessed one's but for the rest it's called discipline.
Absolutely^ but sometime I wish I had a bigger stomach, for me to get over 4000 calories in a day I have to forcefeed every meal and snack and still down my protein shakes.

I also saw a YouTube video that compared different body builders and their percentages of body fats. Very interesting stuff. The conclusion was that different people with the same percentage BF and similar weights and heights can look DRASTICALLY different in physique just because of genetics.
