SymBiotics (U.S. domestic)

I don’t know if he’s still sourcing here or not. I think he’s focused on replacing/refunding right now.

Not sure that it will be “business as usual” moving forward though.

Like you said, guys are the easy step away from home brewing. They just need to spin raws with BA and BB and then add carrier oil. They got the more difficult filtering process down.

I’ve been researching the heck out of it. Doesn’t look hard at all. Those magnetic stirred heating pad combos are pricy I’ll probably use glass stirrer and a stove top but it’s doable... thanks @SymBiotics for applying the pressure to learn the filter part myself

I’m also still waiting his reply from last week.

I have a feeling symbiotics will become another lab. I just see too big of a mess right now to continue selling under the same name. Then again I could be completely wrong and does come back to give it another shot.

He also said that he was sitting on a big pile of raws. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he rebrands.

Who knows, he could have a silent partner involved in this operation that has some influence on what will be done. At the end of the day the bottom line remains the same and that’s profit.

Yeah saw some nice combo magnetic/hot plates on amazon for like 40$-90$. Seems like they would do the job just fine.
I unfortunately haven’t heard back since last week. I initial asked for a reship and then comms stopped. So I’m not sure what’s going on.

does anyone know if I ask for a refund Is it as simple as it just going back to my BTC wallet?

He’d have to ask you for your BTC address and send it there. Works the same way as when you send money to him

Same wallet, but I seem to remember there was one complicating factor. Fuck, I can’t think of it right now. It’s like on the tip of my tongue. Um, bare with me, it rhymes with peeler. Oh yea, that’s right, you’re receiving money from an illegal drug dealer.

I wouldn’t go with a refund. Too many what-ifs.

Wouldn’t it be preferable from the community’s perspective that labs NOT immediately tack to a rebrand when QA issues arise? Isn’t in our interest that “bad” brands be forced to get it right versus encouraging them to reappear under another name, lie about their history, and potentially sell the same product with different labels/caps/stoppers?

Not advocating a “pass” but labs with a significant investment in their operation that have achieved even modest success are unlikely to walk away entirely and eat the loss. If Sym disappears and rebrands then Meso’s audit trail is compromised and when the rebranded effort appears they will lie about or omit from their intro their previous affiliation.

Fully aware that this post will not be well received by the Pitchfork & Torch Party, my point is that continuity and transparency can be valuable to the community at large.

Haha I appreciate the honesty. I don’t really know if I want the reship either with all the shit going on in this thread. I might pin the clean looking stuff and just take the loss on the shit with floaters

Just an old man throwing this in for thought....
Brewing since 1984.

Several have mentioned simply drawing around the piece of stopper that has broken off and now is now in the AAS vial....

This is different from mfg to mfg but, is it the outsides of the stoppers that are sterilized after they are molded, or, are the stopper fillers and binding agents sterilized as well?

Try this...
Tear or cut a stopper in half and compare the texture from inside to outside.

But before you tear or cut the stopper, submerge it in a glass bowl, filled with safflower, cottonseed, grape seed oil. Or any common transfer oil.
While tearing or cutting the stopper, use a magnifying glass for close observation. Do you see one very, very small bubble escape in the process? Most of the time it will be several. Watch closely.
Using distilled water will do but watch quickly. In tap, spring, or purified water, the bubbles get away too quickly to see in most cases.

Question:
Is the air inside the bubble that was in the stopper sterile or does it carry contaminants from the air where the stopper was molded and you are releasing foreign air into your gear?
Same with plunging the pin and bubbles seep into the vial. Slow and gently is best. At least that's what she said.

Most stoppers are molded with high heat but is the heat hot enough to kill contaminants in the air or just hot enough to bind the stopper?

Health and safety is #1. I've learned the hard way and pay for it every day now.

Good luck brothers. Take care of yourselves now so you are able to in the future also.

I don't know. He has a bunch of raws to get rid of and he sounds determined. Maybe he rebrands idk, but it sounds like some here will buy from him anyway.
