just got done filtering half my stock. Holly shit you’re in for a long day, it sucks lol. The worst part isn’t even filtering - it’s drawing everything up into the syringe prior to filtering. I didn’t use a caulk gun as I was just using a 20ml syringe 1 vial at a time. It’s 1 little drip at a time after that, but wasn’t too bad doing it all by hand. I had 1 filter start leaking from the needle end. Thinking that my needle gauge was too small and there was too much pressure (Had a vent needle in as well). I wouldn’t go with anything smaller than a 21g next time.

Also just to update, I was able to draw up the contaminants that were floating around in the vial so they definitely can make their way up through a needle. The filter caught it all and holly shit was it dirty....

the ones you posted a picture of are the sterile presealed vials off gpz. They don’t have the color flip top caps if that’s what you mean but you can buy that separately in a pack of 25 from Gpz. They don’t have anything to peel back like on Syms, but you would need to peel it regardless to puncture the vial with the needle so it would be pointless. They are still sterile as long as you don’t remove the aluminum and stopper. Just wipe the top down with an alcohol prep pad like you would normally when filling it.

I did 7 vials in about 3-4hours with breaks.

about 15-20 minutes to draw up the contents from the old vials (could have gone easier I feel if I took a syringe and removed the plunger to allow the pressure to equalize), and another 10 minutes to filter into the new vial Drip by drip. Didn’t require much force unless the filter gets clogged. I imagine this could go a lot faster if you pop open the old vials and get all the oil in a clean graduated beaker and warm it up and draw it up into your 60ml syringe prior to filtering. Checkout @BigBaldBeardGuy post on this: Post #1126. That’s how I’m probably going to do my remaining batch of Mast. Just waiting on my hotplate and 250ml beakers to arrive. Needed those anyways for the raws I have on the way. May as well wait

As I recall and by their own account, the instance you reference was not the first time that member was paid a visit from a PI.

They come crimped capped sealed and sterile. This is why we usually don’t spoon feed. Literally everything has been laid out for you guys, guys have suggested that you watch YouTube videos and Stan has even taken the time to write it out. That’s different. Those are needle filters. Single use. And you can do that. Hey but guess how easy it is to draw each time? It’s a pain in the ass too. And they come in different microns. Guys usually use needle filters to draw from amps and use bigger pore size because they aren’t going for “sterile” it’s already sterile they just don’t want glass dust. You’re going for sterile cause Sym was a dirty birdy so you need minimum of 0.2 micron to filter out bacteria.

No more questions. If you need this much hand holding then TOSS the gear. Some things you need to be resourceful to figure out. If you’re not then you’re gonna fuck it up and you’re gonna set a needle down wrong and contaminate it then get an infection and be back here blaming us when it really was your own dumbass!

Alright thank you for the detailed response. I believe I am going to be ordering everything to re filter today or tomorrow. I've been doing some more reading but I think all I will need is a few Millipore syringe filter .22u, Those presealed sterile vials, and syringes to draw up the oil? Then I just draw the oil into the syringe and have two needles in the new sterile vials (1 to vent and 1 with the filter attached) then I just drip the oil through the filter?

If you don’t have much oil then don’t do the beaker and hot plate. It’s so painfully slow it’s hard to mess it up.

Just make sure the filter is 0.22 micron and individually wrapped - marked sterile. They have ones sold in bulk packs but those aren’t sterile.

That's going off my questionable memory. One thing worth noting....the member who was visited had been visited by a Postal Inspector in the past. I found that troubling. The member stood up to questioning and without any other backround on the member as far as his Station in this Life, etc..the story was accepted as plausible with more than meets the eye going on in the backround.
It always bothered me....the more than 1 visit(was it 3 visits total?) and it being just dumb luck.
I've been shipping and receiving domestic pkg's of the kind sym ships since the 90's. The one time I had a postal Inspector involved was when a Federal Indictment was unsealed with my name on it. I was set up by a customer I had shipped to several times before he was busted by the feds and offered me up as part of his deal to cooperate. The feds made 2 Controlled Buys before my home was raided by the men in ski masks toting machine guns. They kicked in my door and held myself, my girl, and her 18 month old infant at gun point.
Had to serve a 60 month prison term before I was able to breath fresh air again without cuffs and a belly chain on and without a loaded firearm trained on me, ready to cut me down should I attempt to flee.

Saw a guy who, after arriving at FCI Sheridan to serve a 16yr sentence, attempt to escape and pay for it with his life.
Somehow he was able to hide in the kitchen or laundry(it was many years ago) and got outside where deliveries were made. He waited for the vehicle driving around the perimeter to pass and then scaled the first fence. Not sure how he got up and down the first fence as quickly as he did. Adrenaline, probably. Not sure how badly sliced up he was from constantine wire at that point but he made it to the top of the 2nd fence and got caught up on constantine wire. He was shot dead before getting any further.

I digress. I don't remember the exact spelling of the unlucky members handle? Moreforon or something? As i said, I believe there is more going on with that member who attracts so much attention from the feds. Maybe he's involved in another business that uses the USPS to send or receive some sort of questionable if not outright illegal product? I don't know?

I’ll add that I’ve never had issues besides these two scenarios, both over very small personal amounts of gear, though I’ve heard of a handful of people having the same thing happen as if recently..

lastly, I recall you specifically mentioning that you didn’t believe any of it until the same thing happened to someone you knew, why didn’t you mention that in your first post today?
