T3/T4 combo benefits???

I've seen a lot of threads lately pertaining to t3 /t4 dosage and how to run it , and it seems like the consensus is a t3/t4 combo is superior to t3 alone. I just cant find much info as to what exactly the benefits are (as pertains to bodybuilding especially)? From what ive been reading a few places (mainly the American thyroid association) there is alot of debate as to whether t3/t4 combo therapy is even a good option for hypothyroid patients aside from a subset of patients with a polymorphism in a gene encoding the deiodinase 2 (d2) enzyme that converts thyroxine to triiodothyronine in the brain(about 20% of hypothyroid patients). So I know that doesn't quit pertain to bodybuilding , but seemed relevant because from what info I can find it seems like t4's only function in the body is to convert to active t3 ? Im currently running 75mcg of tiromel , 175mcg of synthoid , and 40 mcg clen(tapering up 20mcg biweekly) dont feel like im getting any added fat loss with the combo in comparison to t3 / clen alone , and just trying figure out why exactly why im doing it ? If anyone has any good information about this id greatly appreciate it?

I've run it alone and the combo and found no benefit either. Just a little more odd to dose for my goals

Yeah I honestly dont know if the t4 serves another purpose that doesnt have anything to do with fat loss , but I dont notice any difference in the way I feel or how fast I burn fat , so at least for that purpose I dont think it makes a difference honestly.

Honestly I know it's probably not as bad as a lot of other PEDs.

But messing with your thyroid just scares me.
Ive used it quit a bit and always bounced back quick , but I also still stick to my diet and get my cardio in so I never have really run it for any extended peroid of time or used it as a crutch , I honestly think its retarded to stay on it for any extended amount of time just because your diet's shit . Thats where I could see people run into problems .

I don't think combo is superior, not even optimal. When t3 levels are high enough t4 won't convert to more t4 so it gets wasted. This is considering its use for bodybuilding as we strive for supraphysiological levels.

And as far as I know, t4 only serves to convert to T3. However, not everyone is able to convert t4 to T3 optimally.

In conclusion, no need for t4 keep it simple. Unless you are into going to doctors, doing tests and that.

How long do you run it?

How long do you run it?
Usually about 6 weeks tops , and I dont taper up or down just start with 75 mcg and stay at that dose until im finished . Ive used 100mcg before and definitely had better fat loss , but the problem is I cant control my appetite half the time , so just through trial ive found 75mcg for about 6 weeks with cardio and diet is all I ever really need to get into condition.

There are dozens of studies in the literature, as far back as the 1950s, showing that endogenous thyroid production restores within weeks (even when suppressed for years at a time).

As far as why one would run both? There very well might be T4-specific processes in the body that will be starved for hormone if running T3-only. This is somewhat speculative, at this time, but SegE (involved in genetic exchange) and CD4 (T4 surface molecule) could be interesting places to dig further into...

Yeah ive actually read the study by dr.monte greer from 1951 recently , and this seems to be the consensus with all studies that have followed . I honestly dont fear shutting down my thyroid by running t3 for extended peroids of time , I more fear interrupting or damaging other processes your thyroid is responsible for . Also thank you , ill look into SegE and CD4 . I dont doubt that t4 serves a secondary purpose in the body , there just isnt much info (that I've been able to find atleast ) that really elaborates on it .

Sorry to bump an old thread but if you're on HGH then T4 would be better. The literature I've read doesn't exactly specify why, but we've learned the pathways that convert t4>t3 while on HGH yield better fat loss. But we don't know exactly which ones and why. I'll try to dig up the paper and a couple articles I read.

Google HGH and T4 and there's a good bit of info
