I didnt say I believe just that I am more likely. Bob we can agree to dissagree and thats cool. There is alot more evindece to back up evolution I mean do you think the dinasourse were hanging around 10,000 years ago. Carbon dating IS a science.

If you want you can refer back to "the passion" thread( I think it was that one). Where I argued that you don't have to believe the earth is 6,000 years old to be a "creationist". Carbon dating is thought by many to fall very short in terms of REAL accuracy. "Oh. But its ONLY off by 6 trillion years or so." Whatever. Besides many scientists have found that the rate of radioactive carbon formation in the atmosphere has not been consistent in the past and that this method is not reliable in dating objects from about 2,000 B.C.E. or before.

6 trillion..I think not anyway thats a copout about not having to believe in the 6000. It just blows the whole theory so its easy to leave that part out. Next youll say god made it look that old when he made it.
Thats cool bro I know its a touchy topic and I usually dont post on em except the college fund thing(what a nightmare that was). To each his own.

It is generally radical fundementalists who insist that the earth is less than 10,000 years old. This has in fact generated no small amount of ridicule from geologists, physicists, etc. However the bible says Gen 1:1 In the begining God created the heavens and the earth. It doesn't say when. The first creative day isn't even mentioned until verse 3.

Oh yea :D I make this dip(on a bulker) I cook up chorizo and then make this baked dish. I take a pan and line the bottom with slices of land o lakes pepperjack then slices jalapinos and crumbled chorixo then more cheese and uder the broiler until golden brown. I dip with nacho chips or roll it up in hot tortillas. Awesome.

Now I have to go to the gym for even thinking about it..back in 2

Hogg, back when you were in MA, did you ever head out to The Cape and eat at the Moor's (Moore's?)? Portuguese restaurant out in P-town that has very good food.

Though I have been to P-town, I do not remember Moor's restaurant. I remember the following:

Thad's steakhouse in dartmouth.

Ma Raffa's pizza in NEW BEISSSSHJJJJ

Chuck's Chinese Restaurant near brooklawn park across the street from Baby Boudoire and my grandma's bookie at the liquor store.

Some place up near Middleboro called Angelo's...it was a pizza place sort of thing.

Thats honestly about all that I remember in terms of restaurants.

Not in over a decade and it is not likely in the future since I will not fly ever again.
Oh yeah, forgot about you not flying. Why is that?

Hey, its only about a 2800 mile drive for you! ;)

"I think the idea of humans originating as single-celled amoebas or bacteria or whatever 3 million years ago is more laughable than your previous idea about life on other planets."

Bob, you make a good point. But, I think that you are giving people who believe in only naturalistic causes for the existence man a large concession. Forget about the simplest forms of life, I want an explanation for life from innate matter. I want an explanation of life from non-life. There has not even been one sensible theory offered that has stood up to scientific peer reviewed criticism. Without this piece of the puzzle evolution is a nonstarter.

It is 3700 by plane so I would assume, great circles notwithstanding, that by automobile would be at least 3200 or so.

No flying amigo.....when someone mentions flying, I have 2 weeks worth of nightmares about falling out of the sky. I will not get on a plane if I am conscious or at least semi-conscious enough to fight off those that are trying to get me on one.

Pansy! :D

Flying is safer than driving and Im sure youve heard all the stats before, so I wont bother to go into them.

Also, Grizzly, do you believe in ANY religious or even metaphysical system? Just curious...

It is much easier to criticize other peoples beliefs than it is to put forth your own. Grizzly finds the broad bosom of skepticism safe and comfortable. At least for now.
